The SFIF Writers Lab also plays a crucial role in the development and success of Icelandic writers by providing a supportive environment for learning, growth, collaboration, and networking. A 3-day Writers’ Room Lab exploring the creative process of storytelling for Film & TV. The goal of the lab is to develop and encourage new languages of storytelling to emerge and build a pipeline of writers telling stories that would otherwise not come to the surface. Our major initiative is to invite writers who are experienced but who need their craft nurtured and work through their market-ready screenplays to pitch them to the industry.

STOCKFISH - WRITERS LAB
Encuentros” is the strategy of the Directorate of Audiovisuals, Cinema and Interactive Media (“DACMI”), of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Knowledge in agreement with Proimágenes Colombia for the strengthening of agents, projects and dynamics of the cinematographic ecosystem and audiovisual from Colombia and Latin America that seeks to create spaces that facilitate convergence and exchange of knowledge between actors in the sector. During 2024, “Encuentros” will take place at various events in the country, each with different themes and focuses.

Laboratorio de Proyectos de Cortometraje - CURTACINEMA
The “From Page to Screen” call is a joint initiative by the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) and the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), aimed at connecting the audiovisual industry with Ibero-American literature. It targets companies, producers, and professionals who develop, acquire, or produce content for film, television, or streaming platforms with an interest in literary adaptations.
Applicants must fill out a registration form and submit a PDF including company details, professional background, adaptation experience, and goals for participation. While no specific formats or genres are mentioned, commercially viable or industry-relevant projects are preferred.
Up to five participants will receive support: two grants include travel (one domestic, one international), and three include lodging, accreditation, and a table at the FIL Rights Center. Selected participants gain access to professional events, catalogs, and networking opportunities during FIL 2025.
The call is open from August 6 to 29, 2025, with results announced on September 17. The in-person program will take place in Guadalajara from November 30 to December 3.

Our Short Film Fund initiative supports the production of a short film screenplay (20 pages max) or the completion of a short film (under 20 minutes) with a grant of up to £5,000 (approx $6,300), a kit rental package, and in-kind post production services.
