El 48 se desarrolla en diferentes fines de semana en diferentes ciudades a lo largo del año. En cada ciudad, los equipos de cine locales, desde principiantes hasta profesionales, compiten para hacer un cortometraje en sólo un fin de semana. ¿Tú y tus amigos tenéis lo necesario para hacer una película sobre la marcha?
Todo comienza con el evento inaugural del viernes por la noche, cuando usted y los equipos de su ciudad sacan géneros de un sombrero y reciben los elementos necesarios para su película.
Luego, empieza a correr: escribir, filmar, editar y hacer lo que sea necesario para enviar tu cortometraje el domingo por la noche.
La gran recompensa es ver tu obra maestra en la pantalla grande de un cine local. Se proyectarán todas las películas, tanto puntuales como tardías. No hay nada mejor que ver tu película con el público y ver de primera mano cómo reaccionan ante tu película.
En el evento de premios de la ciudad, se anuncian las películas ganadoras, según lo determinen los jueces locales. Se otorgan más de una docena de premios, desde Mejor Actuación hasta Mejor Dirección y el premio mayor: Mejor Película.

The 48 Hour Film Project
Impulso CMM Desarrollo 2025, organized by Abycine Lanza with Castilla-La Mancha Media, supports feature film projects (fiction, documentary, or animation) in the development stage. It targets production companies registered with the ICAA, including international co-productions. Up to 20 projects will be selected to participate in training, mentoring, public pitching, one-to-one meetings, and industry networking. Two grants of €17,250 will be awarded to support production linked to Castilla-La Mancha, alongside awards in collaboration with ECAM, Porto/Post/Doc, and Music Library & SFX. The event will take place within Abycine Lanza in Albacete from October 21–24, 2025. Applications are open until July 15, 2025, via Eventival, with a €300 participation fee for selected projects. ABYCINE LANZA – Impulso CMM
TVP has opened submissions for the pitching sessions of the Heart of Europe Forum 2025, which will take place in Warsaw, Poland, from September 30 to October 3, 2025. This call is aimed at filmmakers and TV creators from Central and Eastern Europe, including countries like Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, and others.
The available categories are fiction film, TV series, and documentary. Projects at any stage of development—from initial concept to near-completion—are welcome. Up to ten projects per category will be selected to present before an international jury and audiovisual industry professionals.
Participation is free, and selected projects will have the chance to showcase their work to producers, distributors, festival representatives, and broadcasters, enhancing opportunities for funding, co-production, and distribution. The submission deadline is June 30, 2025.
This is a valuable opportunity to boost the visibility of regional audiovisual production on the international market and to build important industry connections.

Heart of Europe Forum
The Ñuble National Film Festival presents the Confluencias 2026 call, aimed at strengthening the region’s cultural identity and promoting Chilean cinema. Filmmakers from across the country are invited to participate in various sections and industry labs.
The call includes three industry initiatives: the First Feature Lab for fiction projects in early feature stages; the Regional Documentary Lab, for those developing documentary projects at different production stages; and the New Media and Extended Realities Lab, focused on immersive, interactive, or transmedia projects.
All industry activities will take place in person at the Municipal Cultural Center of Chillán from January 13 to 17, 2026. Additionally, there will be a Virtual Reality room open to the public to experience lab projects. Registration for participation is open until November 2, 2025.
