The 7th Ibero-American Screenwriting Residency is a 4‑week immersive program taking place in Cali, Colombia, from October 20 to November 14, 2025. It is aimed at Ibero-American screenwriters with at least a first draft of a fiction feature screenplay.
The residency includes narrative and rewriting labs, staging workshops, and project development sessions. Participants receive group and individual mentorship, plus access to a Production Meeting with producers and industry professionals.
Cali, a UNESCO Creative City, offers a vibrant environment for writing and networking. Over 50 writers from 9 countries have joined previous editions, with films later featured in international festivals.

Ibero-American Script Residency - Something in Common
The Central America and the Caribbean Cinematographic Project Development Workshop is an annual call aimed at supporting filmmakers, screenwriters, and producers from the region in the development of film projects, whether fiction, documentary, or hybrid. Organized by the Ibermedia Program, the workshop offers comprehensive advice in key areas such as script, direction, production, and distribution. Each year, up to 15 projects in advanced stages of development are selected, receiving mentorship from international experts and the opportunity to establish partnerships with other industry professionals. Participants also receive scholarships to cover the expenses of their participation. This initiative aims to enhance the visibility and feasibility of regional projects, fostering potential co-productions and connections with international investors and distributors.

Central America and the Caribbean Cinematographic Project Development Workshop
Ideatoon is a strategy to promote the creation and development of animated projects that can be marketed internationally.
The core of this strategy is an Ideas Contest for animated series and films, where the first prize in 2025 will be the production of a teaser or a short pilot of the winning project to be presented at partner markets and events.

IDFAcademy is an intensive four-day program held within the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), aimed at directors and producers working on their first or second feature-length documentary. It targets filmmakers who have demonstrated national talent and seek to expand internationally. The program includes talks with renowned filmmakers, panel discussions, case studies, and networking events focused on global documentary market trends and challenges.
Applicants must submit a form including their biography, filmography, motivation, and learning goals. Optional materials include ongoing projects and audiovisual samples. IDFAcademy is not a traditional project development lab but a professional training and networking platform.
The application deadline is August 1, 2025, and the program runs from November 13 to 16, 2025, in Amsterdam. About 100 participants from around the world will be selected.
