Festival Start: 27 Oktober 2026      Festival Ende: 28 Oktober 2026

The Latin American Festival of Visual Anthropology (FLAV) is an academic and cultural event organized by the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Diego Portales University, aimed at showcasing and collectively reflecting on visual anthropology and contemporary audiovisual practices within the Latin American context. To this end, the festival brings together practices from anthropology, film, and the visual arts through screenings, exhibitions, discussions, symposia, and workshops.

The festival seeks to establish itself as a significant forum for convergence within the Latin American context, promoting interdisciplinary exchanges, methodological reflections on research-creation, as well as the creation of academic and creative networks with regional and international reach. Furthermore, this initiative aims to foster languages that explore the social from sensitive, experimental, and critical perspectives.

In its first edition, FLAV has a special interest in short-form works that push the boundaries between film, art, and research. We seek proposals that do not simply attempt to represent reality, but rather activate sensitive forms of knowledge, exploring diverse questions through formal devices, work with archival materials, and collaborative creative processes.
