Festival de Cine Rukapillan (7)

The 7th Rukapillan Film Festival, taking place from November 26th to 30th in Pucón, invites Chilean short films to participate in the following sections:

- National Short Film Competition.

- Short films on sexuality and gender diversity.

- Short films on nature and sports.

- Best National Short Film Award.

- Honorable Mention Award.

1. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

Short films that meet the following criteria may participate:

a) National eligibility:
Chilean productions or co-productions with a majority Chilean participation.

b) Technical specifications:

Maximum duration: 30 minutes, including credits

Production completed after January 1, 2023

Accepted genres: fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, or hybrid forms

Short films that have already been submitted to previous editions of the festival will not be accepted.

2. SUBMISSION PROCESS

a) Method and deadline:

Submissions open from July 1 to August 31

Submissions exclusively via the Festhome platform

3. SELECTION PROCESS

a) Notification:
Selected short films will be notified during the month of October.

4. JURY AND AWARDS

a) Jury composition:
Three established professionals from the audiovisual field, whose names will be announced during the festival, will select the Best Short Film and an Honorable Mention among the short films in the National Competition, to be awarded during the festival’s closing ceremony.

5. FESTIVAL COMMITMENTS

a) Support for participants:

Accommodation for one (1) member of the team of each short film selected in the National Short Film Competition during the festival days

Breakfast and lunch for the same person during their stay

Travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant

6. RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Copyright:

Participants retain full copyright over their works

By submitting, participants declare they hold all necessary rights for public exhibition

The festival is not responsible for any copyright conflicts

b) Responsibilities:

The festival commits to the proper handling and care of the works during their exhibition

Participants authorize the use of event images for the festival’s promotional purposes

Participants authorize that selected short films may be shown in other free screenings within Chile as part of the 7th Rukapillan Film Festival tour

7. GENERAL TERMS

a) Acceptance of terms:
Participation implies full acceptance of these rules and regulations.

b) Modifications:
The festival reserves the right to modify these rules due to force majeure, and will inform participants in due time.
