Hawaii Shorts International Film Festival showcases the best short films and its filmmakers from around the world.

Last year's Hawaii Shorts was held at the Kahala Theater. The inaugural year took place at the Koko Marina 8 Theaters in Honolulu on the island of Oahu.

We believe that short form cinema and its creators should have their own premier film festival in Hawaii deserving similar recognition given to the feature film and its creators. The heart of the festival will be our quality and scope of extraordinary film programming.

2016 SUBMISSIONS OPEN

Please read the following submission requirement carefully before you complete the online entry form.

REQUIREMENTS
Films must have been completed after July 1, 2014

All non-English films must have English sub-titles.

All films must be submitted via Online screeners

Works-in-progress will be considered, provided they will be completed prior to the Festival.

Please do NOT send stills or press kits. If your film is selected we will ask you to email us a still image.

You may submit more than one film, but you must complete a separate entry form and pay entry fee for each film.

DEADLINES
Early Deadline: February 19, 2016
Regular Deadline: March 18, 2016
Extended Deadline: April 29, 2016
Late Deadline: May 27, 2016

ENTRY FEE

Shorts under 30 minutes, for each entry:

Early Deadline: $30
Regular Deadline: $40
Extended Deadline: $50
Late Deadline: $60

Shorts over 30 to 45 minutes, for each entry:39

Early Deadline: $35
Regular Deadline: $45
Extended Deadline: $55
Late Deadline: $65

- Films will not be viewed without payment

- All fees are non-refundable

SELECTION

Film selection for the festival will be made by the Festival Committee.

The entrant will be responsible for all shipping fees.

All filmmakers will be notified via email of acceptance.

If any award category does not meet the standard deemed award worthy by the judges, it’s possible that there will be no awards given in that category.


ONLINE SCREENER

Save money on postage fees and avoid the hassle of producing, packaging, and mailing DVDs. Filmmakers can now submit their films online by providing us a Vimeo link and password. Pay entry fee online using your credit card, you do NOT need to mail us any physical materials.
