I Cabanas Film Festival is a film event organized by the cultural association Tarde Piache, in collaboration with the Cabanas City Council. This free-admission festival aims to promote cinema within the genres of thriller, fantasy, science fiction, and horror, while encouraging creativity and participation among filmmakers of all ages.

The festival takes place between February 14 and March 29 at the Escola Laica of Cabanas (Galicia, Spain), and features film screenings alongside dedicated sessions for children, young audiences, and adults. It also includes a short film competition with different categories based on age and format. The event concludes with an awards ceremony and closing celebration.

Prize for all participants of Fervenza Miúda.

Prize for best youth short film (Fervenza Brava).

Prize for best short film (Fervenza 48h).

The organization reserves the right to make special mentions.

- Fervenza Miúda

Aimed at: children aged 0 to 12.

Key requirements:

- Children must visibly participate in the production (script, camera, performance, etc.).

- At least one scene must be filmed in Cabanas, with a photo of the team on location.

Format & duration:

Maximum duration: 5 minutes.
Video format: .mp4 (H.264), minimum resolution 1280×720.
Maximum file size: 1 GB.

Prizes:

All participating children will receive a prize in recognition of their creative work.

Submission deadline is February 15.


- Fervenza Brava

Aimed at: girls aged 12 to 17.

Key requirements:

- Shorts conceived and made by the girls themselves.

- Minimum filming of one scene in Cabanas with a photo of the team.

Format & duration:

Maximum duration: 8 minutes.
Video format: .mp4 (H.264), minimum resolution 1920×1080.
Maximum file size: 2 GB.

Prize:

Audience Award for the best youth short film (details and recognition at the gala).

The evaluation will be carried out by voting by the audience. They will be screened in a Sunday session.

Submission deadline until February 15.


- Fervenza 48H

Aimed at: creators aged 18 and over.
48-hour format:

The creative conditions are given at the beginning of the 48 hours (14/01).

Minimum filming of a scene in Cabanas with a photo of the team.

Format & duration:
Maximum duration: 15 minutes.
Video format: .mp4 (H.264), minimum resolution 1920×1080.
Maximum file size: 3 GB.

Award:

Cinema de Cabanas Award for Best Short Film (statue and recognition).

The evaluation will be carried out by voting of the audience. They will be screened in the Saturday sessions (10pm).

Registration deadline is February 13th. Early registration is recommended.

Common requirements:

- Preferred language: Galician.

- The use of Galician subtitles is recommended if there is content in another language or something is not understood.
