Set against the breathtaking landscapes of South Pelion (Greece), this boutique international film festival offers a refined celebration of bold, contemporary cinema. Thoughtfully curated the festival showcases a selection of distinctive works by both emerging talents and internationally acclaimed auteurs.

With a focus on director-driven storytelling, the program highlights films of strong artistic vision, formal elegance, and narrative depth - works that challenge conventions and elevate the cinematic experience.

Designed as an intimate and immersive gathering, the festival creates a space where filmmakers and audiences connect in a setting of natural beauty and cultural richness. Through screenings, conversations, master classes, debates, concerts and curated encounters, it fosters meaningful dialogue, creative exchange, and a shared appreciation for cinema as an art form.

Cash Prizes: 4,900€

Feature Film Awards:

1/ Best Feature Film (accompanied by a €1,500 cash prize and a “Golden Centaur” statuette)

2/ Jury Award (accompanied by a €1,000 cash prize and a “Silver Centaur” statuette)

3/ Audience Award (accompanied by a €500 cash prize and a commemorative plaque)

Additionally, the possibility of providing accommodation for some of the directors will be examined.


Short Film Awards:

1/ Best Short Film (accompanied by a €1,000 cash prize and a “Golden Centaur” statuette)

2/ Jury Award (accompanied by a €600 cash prize and a “Silver Centaur” statuette)

3/ Audience Award (accompanied by a €300 cash prize and a commemorative plaque)

Additionally, the possibility of providing accommodation for some of the directors will be examined.

Centaur International Film Festival of South Pelion is looking for independent feature-length and short films from around the world from any genre.

Please make sure screener passwords, video files, links etc are working and/or are valid otherwise we will not be able to take the film into consideration.


GENERAL RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. Submission Format

- Films must be submitted via Festhome platform.


2. Submission Eligibility

- All films not in the English language are required to have subtitles.

- Films that are AI generated will be not eligible to play the festival.

- Multiple entries from the same participant are accepted.


3. Premiere Status

- Our festival does ΝΟΤ require premiere status.


4. Submission Fee

- The submission fee is non-refundable.


5. Selection of Films

- Films are reviewed based on the festivals programming goals with a focus on finding unique stories and high-quality filmmaking craft that will engage and entertain our audiences.


6. After your film is selected:

- The filmmaker is notified and the film will be listed on the festival's web site and social media under official selections.

- A screening copy must be sent in HD file in format MP4, H264, MOV using online platforms, along with the time coded English dialogues list (.srt), a Poster, 2 Stills from the film (300pdi), a very short synopsis in English (max. 50 words) and a short CV of the film director in English (max. 50 words).


7. Scheduling

- Screenings are scheduled during the Festival at the discretion of the festival's Programming team. Whilst every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedule, our Festival reserves the right to make changes at any time for any reason. Our Festival will not be liable for any costs claimed as a result of a change in scheduling.


8. Also:

- No film may be withdrawn from the festival programme after its selection.

- The participants are responsible for the content of their work and for any possible copyright problems. The participants own all rights concerning the usage of their work according to the regulations.

- The Festival does not pay screening fees for the films of any of the Festival competitions.



  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
