Medina del Campo Film Week (SECIME) is one of the most consolidated events on the national film scene, standing out as a benchmark in the promotion and dissemination of short films, and being a key exhibitor festival for the Academy of Arts Awards. and the Cinematographic Sciences of Spain. Its main objectives are to support both new talents and established filmmakers, promote the creation and production of short films and contribute to the growth of the audiovisual industry.

OFFICIAL SECTION AWARDS AND THE OTHER VIEW
The official awards of the Medina del Campo International Film Festival will be:

AWARDS GRANTED BY THE JURIES

The Juries will award the following prizes:

Special Prize for the best short film, endowed with €6,000 and a GOLDEN ROEL

Award for the best animated short film, endowed with €500 and a Roel.

Award for the best documentary short film, endowed with €500 and a Roel.

Awards: For the best director, best actor, best actress, best script, best original music, best photography, best editing, best sound and best costumes, each endowed with €200 and a Roel.

Award for the Best short film in the "The Other View" Section, endowed with €1,000 and a Roel.

PRIZES AWARDED BY POPULAR VOTE

SILVER ROEL and €3,000, for the short film with the most votes from the public attending the screenings, sponsored by the Medina del Campo Town Hall.

Youth Award. Awarded by a jury made up of young volunteers, and endowed with €1,000 and a Roel for the best short film, sponsored by the Youth Department of the Medina del Campo Town Hall.

Prize for the best fantasy short film (Fantasmedina Competition). Endowed with €500 and a Roel for the best short film, sponsored by the Medina del Campo Town Hall.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION PRIZES

The official prizes of the Medina del Campo International Film Festival will be:

The selected films will be eligible for the following prizes, which will be awarded by a jury made up of people from the world of cinema and culture:

• First prize for the best international short film, with €2,000 and Roel.

• Second prize for the best international short film, with €1,000 and Roel.

•Youth Prize for the best international short film, with €500 and Roel (Awarded by a jury made up of young volunteers and sponsored by the Youth Department of the Medina del Campo City Council).


VIDEO CLIP AWARDS - VIDEO ART

Two awards are established, one awarded by an official cultural jury and another by public vote - users attending the festival website:

Jury Award, endowed with €1,000 and Roel
Audience Award, endowed with €500 and Roel
Special mention for the Best Video Art Piece

The beneficiaries of these awards will be those who hold the rights to the video clip or video art piece, one of the main requirements being that the winner attends the award ceremony.

NATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION - OFFICIAL SECTION

NATIONAL COMPETITION “LA OTRA MIRADA”

REGULATION

Participation in this competition is open to short films of Spanish production and/or direction.

Films shot in any format, silent or with incorporated sound, of Spanish nationality, produced after April 1, 2024, that have not been entered in previous editions of this competition, may be submitted to the competition.

The maximum duration of the films in competition will not exceed 30 minutes.

The films must be presented spoken in Spanish or in the original version subtitled in Spanish.

Each author may submit up to a maximum of 3 works.

There are two sections in competition; and another informative section. The sections in competition will be the Official Section and La otra Mirada. The selection committee will choose from all the short films received, those that will be part of the competition in each of the two sections and those that will be part of the information section. The exhibition copies of the selected films will be returned once the Festival has concluded.

The selected films will appear in the Festival Catalogue and will be shown in public sessions during the Festival dates.
The screening dates will be announced through the Festival Programme.

The decisions of the Selection Committee and the Jury are final.

The copies in their screening format of the short films that win the Golden Roel, the Silver Roel and the Roel La otra mirada, will remain the property of the Medina del Campo Festival, which will only use them for non-profit purposes.

10. The companies producing and/or distributing the selected or awarded audiovisuals must include a written reference to the granting of said selection or award at the beginning of each and every copy they distribute for exhibition in cinemas, other film competitions, Blu-Ray, television or VOD platforms (video on demand), as well as in all printed information and promotional material (pressbook, posters, etc.). Said reference will consist of a text with the selection or the award granted, accompanied by the corporate image (logo and name) of the Medina del Campo Film Week, which will be provided to them, along with its rules of use, by the organization of the same.

REGISTRATION

Registration is done via an online procedure on any of the following platforms selected by the Festival

In addition to the short film in digital format, the poster of the short film, 2 frames of it and a photograph of the direction of the work must be uploaded to the server.

When submitting the work, you will be asked for a series of data that will make up the registration form, therefore the participant who submits the work online does not have to send anything else by post or email.

SELECTED FILMS

The works selected for the competition will be announced on the Festival website.

Confirmation will be sent by email to each selected person beforehand.

The exhibition copy of the selected short films must be uploaded to the link provided in DCP or HD format with a minimum resolution of 1920 x 1080 -1080p- before January 30, 2024.
