Horror and Fantasy Film Festival.SUSPIRIA FEST
Suspiria Film Festival is an international film festival specializing in horror cinema. Therefore, all short films, regardless of their country of origin, are eligible to participate in the selection process, provided they belong to the horror genre or category in any of its styles or subgenres, including live-action fiction or non-fiction, animation, found footage, and other formats.

Special Section "Terrible community".

(Participation: All those short films that have links with the Valencian Community: actors, actresses, direction, filming, production ...)

- Shortest Terror Section.

- Best Short Fantastic Section.

- Audience Award.

- Best International Short Award

2. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Production Date: Films must have been completed on or after January 1, 2024.

Maximum Running Time: 15 minutes, including end credits.

Language: Films may be submitted in any original language. If the original language is not Spanish, the film must be submitted with either burned-in subtitles or a synchronized .srt subtitle file in Spanish.

Eligibility: Entrants must be at least 18 years of age.

Technical Specifications: Full HD (1920 × 1080) in .mp4 format (H.264 / H.265).

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): If Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools have been used during the production process, selected filmmakers must disclose the tools employed. AI may only be used for post-production purposes. Films generated entirely by AI algorithms will not be accepted.

Screening Format: Selected films must provide a high-quality screening file for exhibition at the Municipal Auditorium of San Vicente del Raspeig. The file will be subject to validation by the festival's technical team.


3. SUBMISSION DEADLINE AND ENTRY PROCEDURE

The submission deadline is September 12, 2026.

All entries must be submitted through the Festhome platform. Submission constitutes official registration for the festival and participation in the selection process.

Each submission must include:

- The film poster.
- Two high-resolution stills (300 dpi).


4. COMMUNICATION PROCESS

Submission Confirmation: Applicants will receive a confirmation message via Festhome indicating that the film has been received and, once verified for compliance with these regulations, whether the submission has been officially accepted.

Selection Notification: If a film is selected as a finalist in the Official Selection of its corresponding category, the entrant will be notified individually through both the Festhome platform and email.

Festival Screenings (November 2026): Once the Official Selection has been finalized, selected filmmakers will receive the screening schedule, dates, and detailed information regarding the festival programme and activities.


5. AWARDS AND JURY

The jury will present the following awards, each consisting of a trophy and a cash prize of €100:

- Best National Short Film
- Best International Short Film
- Best Short Film from the Valencian Community
- Audience Award
- Bizarre Award (Best Original and/or Most Entertaining Short Film)

Jury's Discretion: The jury reserves the right to withhold any award if it considers that no entry merits the prize. An official record of the awards granted will be issued; however, the jury's deliberations shall remain private and confidential.

Jury Composition: The jury will consist of members of the Suspiria Film Festival organization, professionals from the audiovisual industry, representatives of film festivals, and film critics specializing in genre cinema. The full jury composition will be announced before the festival begins.


6. TAX INFORMATION

All monetary amounts (Selection Fees, if applicable, and Prize Money) are stated as gross amounts and are subject to the applicable tax withholdings and fiscal regulations under Spanish law and the legislation of the recipient's country of residence.


7. COPYRIGHT AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATIONS

7.1 Copyright Ownership

The author, producer, or rights holder declares and guarantees that they hold all rights necessary for the film's participation in the festival, including image rights, music rights, and any other intellectual property incorporated into the work.

Submitting a film to the Suspiria Film Festival does not imply any transfer of intellectual property rights. The author retains full ownership of the work at all times.

7.2 Screening and Promotional License

By submitting a film, the rights holder grants Suspiria Film Festival a non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited license to:

- Publicly screen the film during the festival and its official activities exclusively for cultural and non-commercial purposes.

- Use the film's title, synopsis, poster, and still images in the festival's promotional and communication channels.

- Use excerpts of up to 60 seconds exclusively for festival promotional materials (including trailers, recap videos, and the festival's historical archive), for an unlimited period and without additional compensation.

This license does not authorize the distribution, commercial exploitation, modification, or any other use of the film beyond the purposes described above.

7.3 Awards Ceremony

Trophies will be presented in person during the Closing Ceremony. If an award winner is unable to attend, the festival will cover the shipping costs for delivering the trophy.



8. CONTENT RATING AND DISCLAIMER

The Official Selection and Special Screenings of Suspiria Film Festival 2026 are rated NR-18 (Not Recommended for Persons Under 18 Years of Age).

Screenings may contain explicit graphic violence, intense psychological horror, physical abuse, disturbing imagery, and strobe lighting effects.

Attendees participate with full knowledge of the nature of the programmed content and do so entirely at their own risk.

The festival organization accepts no responsibility for any physical, psychological, or emotional reactions resulting from the viewing of the films.


9. DATA PROTECTION

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Personal Data Protection and Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), the personal data provided during the submission process will be processed by Suspiria Film Festival Cultural Association solely for the purpose of administering participation in the festival.

Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties without the explicit consent of the data subject, except where required by law.

Submitting a film to the festival constitutes acknowledgment, understanding, and full acceptance of these Rules and Regulations, including the above data protection policy.




  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
