Festival Cine Curtas Lapa (13)

Cine Curtas Lapa is an independent, non-profit festival with free entry. The Festival aims to show films that were made or have as their theme the city of Rio de Janeiro in order to promote the Brazilian audiovisual industry, especially short films from Rio in the city's most traditional nightlife neighborhood. The idea is to bring a program of fiction, animation and documentary shorts to the public of Lapa, enriching the cultural life of the bohemian neighborhood.

There will be popular and professional jury voting for short films. The winner of each category will receive a certificate and the festival trophy.

The festival's jury will be formed by professionals from the audiovisual industry.

1. Registration

The application period will be from August 20 to September 17, 2024 - business hours.

Material delivered outside this period will not be accepted.

To enroll, the participant must submit, in accordance with item 3 of this notice:

2. Of films and media

- Films must have been produced in H.264 format;

- Films can also be uploaded via FTP or via the Festhome website (https://festhome.com/).

- Other shipping methods must be studied with the Festival production.



The following are considered for the Festival:

- Short films (Fiction, Animation, Documentary, Experimental): up to 15 minutes;



The media delivered for pre-selection will be the same to be used if the film is selected. The films must be finished, not being accepted unfinished films or provisional copies, even after the registration period.

4. Selection of Short Films

- Short films filmed in the city of Rio de Janeiro or that have the city as a theme, Brazilian and foreign films, documentaries, animations, Cinema de Bordas and experimental films will be selected.

- The media will NOT be returned to participants, thus remaining in the festival collection. Short or unpublished short films will be selected in the commercial / festival circuit.

- There may be films invited by the Festival.

- Short films for the Festival will be films that are up to 15' (fifteen minutes), counting the end credits.

- Foreign films must have subtitleS IN PORTUGUESE,

Only films produced from 2021 onwards will be accepted.


4.1 Program “Sessão Cine Curtas Lapa”

The films selected and awarded at the festival will be part of the Festival Collection and will be shown - in the future - in the programs "Sessão Cine Curtas Lapa" and "Papo, Roteiro e Cerveja", both linked to the Festival (YouTube Channel and Commemorative Exhibitions of the Festival) .

5. Make the result

The selection result will be available on the website www.cinecurtaslapa.webs.com and on our Social Networks, from September 19, 2023.

6. From the Festival Period

This year, 2023, the Festival will once again have its bohemian audience, from October 26th to December 14th, 2023. The Festival will award prizes and will end on December 14th, 2023.

8. Medium and long views

There may be medium and feature length films whose theme is the city of Rio de Janeiro during the Festival, but outside the competitive parade. Being displayed in different places.

9. Exhibition/dissemination authorization

In the registration form, the participant will authorize the festival producer to show the selected film during the festival according to the schedule to be announced and will also authorize the showing of excerpts of up to 1 minute of the film in journalistic programs on Brazilian television with open signal. or Social Networks and to be made available on informative websites on the INTERNET strictly with the aim of publicizing the event.
