The 17th edition of the Puente Genil Film and Short Film Festival, CortogeniAl, will be held in Puente Genil, Córdoba (Spain), from October 9 to 17, 2026.
REQUIREMENTS:
− Short films must have been produced in 2025 or 2026.
− The duration must not exceed 30 minutes.
− Productions not filmed in Spanish must be subtitled in Spanish.
− The authors will own the rights to their works and are responsible for all copyrights present in the short film.

2026 REGULATIONS
1. PURPOSE
The 17th Edition of the Puente Genil Film and Short Film Festival, CortoGenial, aims to promote and showcase short films as an artistic and cultural expression, encouraging participation from both national and international filmmakers.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Any individual or legal entity (director, producer, or distributor) holding the legal control and exploitation rights of the submitted work may participate.
The person or entity submitting the short film shall be considered the official contact person for all communications and solely responsible before third parties involved in the production.
The applicant declares under their responsibility that they hold all necessary rights for the public screening of the work within the framework of the festival.
Participants guarantee that the submitted work does not infringe any intellectual property rights, image rights, or other third-party rights, and release the festival organization from any liability arising from non-compliance.
3. REQUIREMENTS
Short films in fiction, documentary, or animation are eligible.
The call is open to national and international productions.
Films must have been produced in 2025 or 2026.
The running time must not exceed 30 minutes, including end credits.
Films not originally in Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.
The submitting party must hold all necessary rights for public screening.
The organization may request supporting documentation in the event of disputes or third-party claims.
4. VENUE AND DATES
The 17th Edition will take place in Puente Genil (Córdoba, Spain) from October 9 to October 17, 2026.
Official Competition Screenings: October 15 and 16
Closing Gala and Awards Ceremony: October 17
Screenings will be held at the Teatro-Circo of Puente Genil and other cinema venues or cultural spaces designated by the organization.
The official program will be published through the festival’s official channels.
5. SUBMISSION
The submission period will open on March 1, 2026, and close on August 1, 2026 (inclusive).
Submissions must be made exclusively through the Festhome platform (www.festhome.com
).
Submission is free of charge.
6. SELECTION
A selection committee appointed by the organization will select the films competing in the Official Section.
The committee’s decision is final.
The Official Section will consist of a maximum of 36 works. The organization reserves the right to reduce this number according to programming and artistic quality criteria.
Films may indicate their main category (Fiction, Documentary, or Animation) for organizational purposes.
Evaluation will consider artistic quality, originality, direction, performance, screenplay, and creative contribution.
The official selection will be announced on September 15, 2026, on the festival’s website.
Selected filmmakers will be notified in advance by email.
Once selection is confirmed, films may not be withdrawn from the program.
7. SCREENING FORMATS
Selected films must be delivered before September 20, 2026, in:
.mov or .mp4 format
Minimum Full HD resolution (1920x1080)
H264 codec
Non-Spanish-language films must include Spanish subtitles in .srt format or embedded subtitles.
8. AWARDS
The jury of the 17th edition will announce the awards during the Closing Gala.
Cash Awards:
CortoGenial 2026 Grand Prize – €1,000
Second Prize – €600
Best National Short Film – €600
Audience Award – €500
RTVA Award for Best Andalusian Audiovisual Creation, according to its own regulations.
Awards are subject to Spanish tax regulations.
The jury will be composed of professionals from the audiovisual and cultural sectors.
The jury’s decision is final.
The composition of the jury will be made public before the Closing Gala.
Jury members must abstain from deliberation and voting in cases of direct professional or personal involvement with a competing work.
The Audience Award will be determined through the voting system established by the organization.
Award-winning films must include the official festival laurel in future screenings.

Best Documentary Short Film
Best Animation Short Film
Special Mentions or Honorable Mentions
These recognitions do not carry additional monetary prizes.
9. PAYMENT OF AWARDS
Prize money will be paid within a maximum period of three months following the festival, upon submission of the required documentation.
10. RIGHTS AND PROMOTIONAL USE
Submission implies non-exclusive authorization for public screening of the work during the festival.
The organization may use excerpts of up to one minute or 10% of the total running time (whichever is shorter) for promotional purposes in media, website, and social networks.
This authorization does not imply commercial exploitation or transfer of rights.
11. ARCHIVE / MEDIA LIBRARY
Submitted works will become part of the festival’s audiovisual archive.
For future non-competitive screenings of cultural, educational, or promotional nature and always non-profit, prior authorization will be requested from rights holders.
The archive will be maintained for historical and documentary purposes.
12. EQUALITY AND RESPECT PRINCIPLES
CortoGenial promotes equal opportunities, cultural diversity, and respect for fundamental rights, rejecting any form of discrimination based on gender, origin, sexual orientation, disability, ideology, or any other personal or social condition.
13. DATA PROTECTION
Personal data will be processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable Spanish legislation, exclusively for the purpose of managing participation in the festival.
Participants may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection by contacting the organization.
14. FORCE MAJEURE
The organization reserves the right to modify dates, format, or conditions of the festival due to force majeure or unforeseen circumstances.
15. ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATIONS
Submission implies full acceptance of these regulations and the decisions of the organization, selection committee, and jury.
Any matters not covered in these regulations will be resolved by the organization.
