Entering our 14th year in 2017, the Iowa City International Documentary Film Festival (IC DOCS) is an annual event committed to engaging local audiences by exhibiting a broad range of contemporary short films (under 30 minutes) that explore the boundaries of documentary and non-fiction filmmaking. This year’s jury includes David Dinnell and Azadeh Navai.

MISSION AND OBJECTIVE
We seek to create a diverse program that covers a broad range of forms, modes, and styles—from conventional documentary, to experimental non-fiction and new genres.

The Iowa City Documentary Film Festival is an international festival run and organized by students at the University of Iowa. The festival, in its 14th year, challenges conventional modes of thinking about art, documentation, and non-fiction. Recent jurors for the festival include John Gianvito, Monica Savirón, Kevin B. Films must be shorter than 30 minutes long.
