Festival start: 23 September 2026      Festival end: 04 October 2026

The audiovisual production company Nicobis celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, and also celebrates 20 years of life of the Kolibrí International Audiovisual Festival for Childhood and Adolescence!!!! which will take place from September 23 to October 4 in 5 Departments of Bolivia, based in the cities of La Paz and Santa Cruz.

The Festival seeks to foster audiovisual literacy, creating children and adolescents capable of reading and understanding images, and being critical of what they consume and, therefore, of their own reality. All of this through exhibitions of quality children's productions and audiovisual training workshops, so that children and adolescents are able to create their own audiovisual works and develop their own judgment.

In the same way, it seeks to create a national and international network for educational audiovisual dissemination, as well as to discover and promote quality productions from different countries and continents aimed at childhood and adolescence.

For this edition, we want to emphasize water care and environmental protection, as part of our long-term alliance with the project “There is No Planet B” or “No Hay Planeta B”.

The festival has two types of juries, whose decisions will be final.

The first will be composed of children and adolescents. This jury will present a single award for the best work.

Single Childhood Award “Kolibrí Infantil”

The second jury will be composed of three Bolivian and/or foreign filmmakers and/or specialists of recognized prestige, who will present awards for each of the following categories:

“Kolibrí” for Best Fiction
“Kolibrí” for Best Documentary
“Kolibrí” for Best Animation
“Kolibrí” for Best Television Production
“Kolibrí” for Best Production Made by Children or Adolescents

Any of these categories may be declared vacant, or special mentions may be awarded in the aforementioned categories.

Parallel Activities

Parallel to the exhibition of the works in competition, audiovisual production workshops will be held as a tool for transformation together with children and youth. Likewise, workshops will be held with teachers from peri-urban areas of Bolivia to provide them with pedagogical tools to bring audiovisuals into the classroom.

Discussion panels are also an important part of our annual activities, where we collectively rethink the paths, crossroads, gaps, and bridges built around children's audiovisuals in Bolivia and Ibero-America.

Dissemination

The received works will become part of the Festival's Audiovisual Archive and will not be used for commercial purposes. The works may be used for educational, cultural, or promotional screenings.
