The Verga Film Festival in tribute to the famous writer aims to make known and disseminate audiovisual works that document the different geographical, political and cultural horizons through the film medium. Cinema as an act of cultural and social communication that communicates with man and without the use of artificial devices but only through the purity of a true, simple and direct language. An event divided into contests, meetings, retrospectives, previews and a behind of the scene. A quality jury, which will evaluate the works in their linguistic and empathic properties. The idea is to create a quality filmography that develops around the poetry of images and visual grammar.

This year the event will take place in Matera, Capital of the Capital of Culture, the fees have changed due to the prestige

Art 1. The 2020 edition of the Festival will take place in Sicily, the dates are not yet indicated due to the emergency of the epidemic

Art 2. In respect of the other participants we do not accept registrations without payment
of the fee. (This is a paltry cost, therefore, avoid haggling and insisting)

Art.3 For foreign works, films are NOT accepted without "Italian subtitles"

Art.4 Everything information is written in the regulation, all correspondences in this sense will be ignored

Art.5 The categories of the prize are indicated above

Art.6 The maximum duration of the short films is 10 minutes including the titles. "Foreign" works must be subtitled in Italian or english.

Art.7 Participation in the competition is subject to a fee

Art.8 The works must be uploaded in digital format on the Festhome platform.

Art.9 By registering the work, the author declares to be the owner of the various image releases of the participant for original and non-original music present in the short film or in any case a self-certification that guarantees the possession by the author of the rights synchronization of the non-original music present in his short film

Art.10 By registering for the festival, the authors exclusively and on their own answer for the content of their works.

Art.11 The selection of the works will be made by an unquestionable and unappealable judge of a qualified jury.

Art.12 The prizes to be won will be delivered exclusively to the subjects awarded or to a person delegated by them who must be present at the awards ceremony. The absence of the winners at the award ceremony will result in the loss of the prizes themselves.

Art.13 The request for admission to the Festival implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Regulations.

Art.14 It is possible to participate with multiple works, paying for each entry.



  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
