lberoandronico was founded with the aim of promoting and safeguarding citizens’ participation in the cultural, civic and social life of the local area.
The Association’s activities include the promotion of culture in all its forms (including literature, theatre, music and film), initiatives aimed at the most vulnerable groups, the practice of sport, the organisation of cultural trips, excursions and guided tours, collaboration with neighbourhood committees and educational bodies, and the development of forms of social support, civic protection and environmental conservation.
The Prize is divided into eight categories in the Italian language:

Unpublished work in verse or prose on the theme: “The street, the home, the city, the environment: building and living in the local area”;

F) Unpublished lyrics for a song on any subject;
G) Unpublished work in poetry or prose on the theme: “Sport”;
H) Unpublished novel or essay (H1), unpublished collection of poems (H2);
a dialect section:
I) Unpublished poem in dialect on any subject;
a photography section:
L) Unpublished photographic work on any subject;
a short film section:
M) Scripted short film (M1); video; documentary; music video; dance video; podcast; video poetry (M2);
a painting section:
N) Painting on any subject.
Entries may be submitted by sending your work, either:

The Prizes
Awards will be presented to the top six entrants in each section, consisting of cash prizes, trophies, plaques, publications and certificates of merit. In addition, special prizes have been established for the best works from a foreign country and for the best works by poets and fiction writers whose mother tongue is not Italian. Special awards will be given to the youngest entrants and to those… who are a little older.
Certificates of merit will be awarded to the selected entrants.
# REGULATIONS
1. The Competition is open to all citizens, regardless of their place of residence, with works written in the Italian language only, except for Section I (works in dialect) and the Visual Arts Sections L, M and N.
2. Each entrant may participate in one or more sections.
3. Section A requires the submission of one typewritten poem not exceeding 40 lines.
4. Section B requires the submission of a collection of up to 8 poems, each not exceeding 40 lines. The collection must include a title and a table of contents.
5. Section C requires the submission of one written work (short story, essay, fable or article) not exceeding 8 pages, each consisting of 2,000 characters, including spaces.
6. Sections D and G require the submission of a literary work, either in verse (not exceeding 40 lines) or in prose (short story, essay, fable or article) not exceeding 8 pages, each consisting of 2,000 characters, including spaces, addressing the specified theme.
7. Section E (E1 Fiction, E2 Poetry) requires the submission of a book published between 1 January 2016 and the closing date of the Competition (novel, essay or poetry collection), to be sent in 4 copies (signature not required). Electronic editions are also accepted and must be submitted in PDF format. An electronic edition means a work published in digital format with an ISBN code, and not a digital copy replacing a printed edition.
8. Section F requires the submission of a typewritten song lyric not exceeding 40 lines.
9. Section H (H1 Fiction, H2 Poetry) requires the submission of an unpublished novel, essay or poetry collection. Collections of short stories are also accepted, provided they are presented under a single title.
10. Section I requires the submission of one typewritten poem in dialect, accompanied by an Italian translation on the facing page, not exceeding 40 lines.
11. Section L requires the submission of one unpublished photograph on any subject, in colour or black and white. The image must be produced exclusively using photographic equipment and may be processed using digital editing software only insofar as such processing does not alter its original characteristics or become the predominant element of the composition. The photograph must not display the author's name or any other identifying mark. For this section, the specific release form, duly completed and signed, must be enclosed. 12. Section M (M1 Narrative Short Film, in either Italian or a foreign language, the latter with mandatory Italian subtitles; M2 Video, Documentary, Music Video, Dance Video, Podcast, Reel, Video Poetry, which will also compete in the special M.A.V. ranking) requires the submission of works on any subject with a maximum running time of 15 minutes, including credits.
The author accepts full responsibility for all footage used, including the use of non-original music protected by copyright, assumes all civil and criminal liability relating to the produced film, declares that they hold the legal rights to the film/video, authorises its public screening without claiming any compensation, and releases the Alberoandronico Association from any present or future liability.
The Association reserves the right to use the submitted works exclusively for cultural purposes, without any compensation being due to the author.
For this section, the specific release form, duly completed and signed, must be enclosed. It can be downloaded from **alberoandronico.net**.
13. Section N requires the submission of one painting on any subject, created using any technique (which must be specified). A high-resolution reproduction must be submitted, showing neither the author's name nor any other identifying mark. Judging will be based on the submitted image. Prize-winning authors may be requested to exhibit the original work during the Awards Ceremony.
14. An entry fee of €20 (twenty euros) per work is required to cover organisational, administrative and promotional costs. Payment must be made by bank transfer to POSTE IBAN IT44J0760103200000076556059 (or the corresponding postal account no. 76556059), payable to Associazione Alberoandronico.
15. Entries must be submitted by 30 September 2026, either:
a) By email, enclosing the entry form and proof of payment of the entry fee (and, for Sections L and M, the specific release form):

The package must include 4 copies of the work (only one copy must bear the entrant's name, surname, the section entered and signature; for Section E, the signature is not required), together with the entry form and proof of payment of the entry fee.
16. By signing the entry form, entrants grant permission for their work to be published in the Anthology should it be among the winning or selected works, without prejudice to copyright, which shall remain vested in the author.
17. The Jury will select the works to be published in an Anthology. The publication arrangements will be communicated to each selected author. From among the selected works, the Jury will choose the winners of the National Alberoandronico Award.
18. The Jury, whose decision is final and binding, shall consist of critics and distinguished figures from the cultural sector. Its members will be announced during the Awards Ceremony, to be held in Rome. All selected participants will be informed of the date, venue and time of the ceremony.
19. Authors who are unable to attend the Awards Ceremony in person or by proxy may receive their prizes and certificates by post, at their own expense, provided they submit an express request to the Secretariat. Participation in the Competition implies full acceptance of these Regulations, which may be amended if required for organisational reasons, without altering their substance.
20. In accordance with the applicable data protection legislation, participants are informed that their personal data and contact details will be used exclusively for the purposes of the Competition, the publication of the Anthology and the other activities of the Association (EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), Italian Legislative Decree No. 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree No. 101/2018).
