Founded in Rome in 2018, in seven years the Prisma Awards has grown to become one of the most community-oriented festivals, hosting more than 400 filmmakers from all over the world and presenting films driven by the urgency to evoke emotions, by the desire to move people, films that bravely tell stories that deserve to be told — no matter the budget, no matter the culture, no matter the genre.

In the monthly film festival landscape, many events are unethical and non-transparent, charging filmmakers embarrassing entry fees without then committing to showing and promoting their work in the best way possible. We at the Prisma Awards work to reshape this system for the better.

In this way, first-time filmmakers and world-class talent can participate in a fair competition where everyone starts from the same line. $130.000 IN SERVICE PRIZES EVERY YEAR

Hosted by Cinema Azzurro Scipioni, in its first year Prisma Awards saw Silvano Agosti as the president of the jury, legendary italian director that has worked alongside the greatest italian professionals like Morricone, Storaro, Piovani and many others. In its second year it moved to Cinema dei Piccoli, one of the oldest movie theaters of Rome in the heart of Villa Borghese park since 1934. In 2020 the new artistic director Marcello Di Trocchio stepped in, shaping a series of screenings on Twitch very popular during the pandemic. In 2021, the festival came back live at Cinema Farnese, one of the most magical cinemas in Rome, where it currentyl holds its events.

Many of the films we’ve screened have passed through first-class festivals, like the short films ????????́???? by Gunnur Martinsdóttir Schlüter or ???????????????????????? ???????????? by Jasmin Tenucci , both winners of the Special Mention at Cannes Film Festival, or ???????????? ???????????????????????????????????? by João Gonzalez and ???????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????????????? by Leo Berne and Raphaël Rodriguez, both shortlisted in the Academy Awards, or ???????????????? ???????????????? by Lucía G. Romero and ???????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????? by Christian Avilés from the official selection of Berlinale and Locarno Film Festivals. At the same time, we are always proud to bring to the big screen also unpublished gems that we fortunately intercept and that almost nobody else shows.
