Festival Internacional De Cine Golfo De Morrosquillo - FICGO (3)

The FICGO Gulf of Morrosquillo International Film Festival is a space for exhibition, training and promotion that generates experiences through cinema and audiovisuals for the entire region with a program of films, workshops and activities simultaneously in the municipalities of Coveñas, Santiago de Tolu and San Onofre, Sucre. The festival is a cultural meeting that strengthens emerging local talents and exalts the narratives of the Caribbean.

The third version of the FICGO Gulf of Morrosquillo International Film Festival will take place from December 2 to 7, 2023.

Sections in competition:

Caribbean regattas:

Only productions from the Colombian Caribbean region may participate in this category, directed by Colombian directors, whose completion or premiere is after January 1, 2019, with a minimum duration of 7 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes of the Fiction or Documentary genres.

* The Colombian Caribbean region is made up of the departments of Atlántico, Bolívar, Cesar, Córdoba, La Guajira, Magdalena, Sucre, San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina.

* Blue Crab statuette will be awarded - Jury Award.

Coconut Cinema:

Children's animated short films from any country in the world (except Colombia) with a minimum duration of 5 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes, spoken in Spanish, dubbed into Spanish or without dialogues, may participate in this category. Preferably with an environmental and/or ethnic theme.

* Blue Crab statuette will be awarded - Recognition of the children's public.
Considerations

- To participate in any of the sections, a premiere in Colombia is not required. The short films may have had public exhibition in the Colombian territory or in other countries as part of the tour of festivals and independent distribution.

- The organization of the festival has the power to examine special situations and to convene the short film sections Regatas del Caribe and Cine Coco as part of the competing categories.

- Colombian short films are understood to be those that, according to the Colombian cinematographic legislation, have the required percentages of national economic, technical and artistic participation.

- The Official Selection of the competitions will be announced through social networks and the website (www.ficgofestival.com) at the beginning of October 2023.


Registration requirements

Registration must be made only through the Festhome platform between May 2 and August 2, 2023.

The Caribbean Regattas section will be free for registrations from the opening date to the closing date of the call.

Registration periods and fees (fees) Cine Coco - International Section:

Early registration, from May 2 to June 30, 2023:

- 10 USD for the Cine Coco International Competition.

Regular registration, from May 31 to July 31, 2023:

- 12 USD for the Cine Coco International Competition.

Late registration, from July 31 to August 2, 2023:

- 15 USD for the Cine Coco International Competition.

All those registered must assume the fee for the use of the platforms.
