Festival start: 05 September 2024      Festival end: 14 September 2024

Only for Colombian Film-makers. FESTIVAL LABERINTO is a film festival for those who live and breath cinema, wether as film critics, productors or cinephiles. We want to build new possibilities for audiovisual arts in general, so the inherent diversity of our ideas and sensibilities can be expressed. Open social environments are required to reach the objectives of this festival; our purpose is to create such environments, especially in Boyacá, and potentially in the rest of the country. Coming from a formative, divulgative and creative standpoint, we extend an invitation to all of the people interested in filmaking.

We want you to put your imagination in motion.

Bolder and more complex ways of living and exploring cinema are just around the corner. We would like to explore those new possibilities with you. Those who are interested in our event will be able to submit their work in the folllowing open calls.

Regarding the awards, there will be at least 4 monetary prizes and 6 honorary prizes. Details will be announced weeks before the start of the festival. The Latin American short film competition in principle will not have paid awards, only honorary ones.

For the works of the Boyacá competition, Video clips and Series are also admitted (total chapters no longer than 30 minutes)

*No competition makes any exclusion regarding the type of film production accepted, which is why these can be fiction, non-fiction, documentary, experimental, animation or essay film.

*Extra-cinematic formats such as series, miniseries, video clips, etc. are not accepted. (except for video clips in the Boyacá category)

*The criteria for whether or not a film is relevant to a territory (read “Colombia” or “Boyacá”) are broad: it depends not only on whether it is legally produced in the territory, but also on whether the work was recorded in said territory, its creators have said origin or if the film has direct and dependent references to said territory.

*Movies not spoken in Spanish must be subtitled.

*The competitions or samples are not fixed, they can be changed or open new ones, or some existing ones can be closed at the discretion of the Festival.

*Minimum requirements for screening copies. Resolution 1920x1080 MP4 format
Requirements

*Registration must be made by the director/producer of the film and must contain: film viewing file, short synopsis, technical file and specifications, artistic file, photo and biofilmography of the director, poster, high quality stills and information of social networks of the work and the filmmakers.
If the film is not spoken in Spanish, the subtitles in this language must also be attached; If you do not have them, a list of dialogues in english with timecodes and a high-quality digital file will be required to add subtitling.

The registration of a work to the Festival will have the character of acceptance of these regulations.
After the selection notification date, no film may be withdrawn from the Festival. Participants whose works have been selected in any of the categories agree to provide any extra material requested by the Festival.
