The In-Cena Cultural Institute will select short and feature audiovisual works for to be exhibited at Cine Pojichá - Film Festival of the Mucuri and Jequitinhonha Valleys, which will hold its fifth edition in November 2021.

The Festival, of cultural and pedagogical character, aims to: a) promote mobilization of the residents of the Mucuri and Jequitinhonha Valleys in the self-organization for production and access to independent films; b) develop a permanent film screening program; and c) encourage the creation of film clubs. The theme of this 5th edition is Benzeção. Carefully read the text available in ANNEX I to understand the proposal and concept of this edition of the festival.

2021 NOTICE

CINE POJICHA

The In-Cena Cultural Institute makes public the call for selection of audiovisual works for the 5th edition of Cine Pojichá – Mucuri and Jequitinhonha Valley Film Festival, with the theme “Benzeção”.

1. OBJECT AND NAME:

1.1. The In-Cena Cultural Institute will select short and feature audiovisual works to be shown at Cine Pojichá - Film Festival of the Mucuri and Jequitinhonha Valleys, which will hold its fifth edition in November 2021.

1.2. The Festival, of a cultural and pedagogical nature, aims to: a) promote the mobilization of the residents of the Mucuri and Jequitinhonha Valleys in self-organization for the production and access to independent films; b) develop a permanent film screening program; and c) encourage the creation of film clubs.

1.3. The theme of this 5th edition is Blessing. Carefully read the text available in ANNEX I to understand the proposal and concept of this edition of the festival.

2. CONDITIONS:

2.1. The films selected in this notice will not receive payment of any kind referring to their exhibition at the festival.

2.2. Date and location: The Festival will be held from November 1st to 3rd, 2021, in the city of Teófilo Otoni, Minas Gerais, Brazil, but may hold exhibitions in other cities in the Mucuri and Jequitinhonha Valleys, previously scheduled.

2.3. Program: The Festival Committee will organize the program in different exhibitions, according to the selected proposals.

2.4. Short and feature films will be accepted; produced in any territory and from any year; that dialogue with the theme of the festival; with a maximum duration of 120 (one hundred and twenty) minutes (including credits); spoken or subtitled in Portuguese; and of all cinematographic genres, except institutional or advertising.

2.5. The Festival's Organizing Committee reserves the right to select films that have not been submitted and produced in any period, in order to meet the festival's purposes.

2.6. There is no limit on the number of films per Director/Director.

3. REGISTRATION:

3.1. Registration is free and will be done exclusively through the internet.

3.2. Application period: from 25th August to 13th September 2021.

3.3. Individuals and/or companies may register works in Cine Pojichá.

3.4. Applications must be made through the following link: https://forms.gle/Yth6AAjQftaRhyp1A

3.5. A new copy of the work will not be requested, in case it is selected. For this reason, the copy of the film for selection must be in full display conditions, under penalty of disqualification.

3.6. Entries must be sent through a download sharing link, which must be available until the period of the film's exhibition.

3.7. The link that allows direct download of the movie from any hosting platform is considered valid.

3.8. For publicity purposes, the application form must include: 01 (one) photo of the film and 01 (one) photo of the Film Director (format: JPEG; resolution: 300DPI).

3.9. If the director submits his work via a YouTube link, it must be configured as “not listed” or “public”. The Vimeo link must be sent together with the access password.

3.10. Each link must contain a single work.

3.11. File Formats for sending the movie/s for selection/exhibition:
Format: MOV, MPG4 or AVI;
Codec: H264, XVID or DIVX;
Resolutions: HD, Full-HD, 4K;

3.12. Any non-standard forwarded file format requested will be handled by the technical team and will be subject to inefficient rendering. Cine Pojichá cannot be held responsible for any problem arising from this procedure.

3.13. Receipt of entries and materials will be automatically confirmed via email. New contacts will only be made if there is a technical or registration problem.

3.14. In the registration form, the director must inform: a) Name and contact of the person responsible; b) Name of the work; c) Synopsis; d) Place of Origin of the Film; e) Complete Technical File; f) Brief curriculum of the director; g) 1 (one) publicity photo of the film; h)1 (one) photo of the director; i) Movie access link; j) Film portfolio (if any); k) Classification of the work;

4. SELECTION OF FILMS FOR EXHIBITION:

4.1. The Festival Selection Committee (Curator), responsible for the selection of films, will be formed by the filmmaker Géssica Emanuelle, by the artists Lívia Ferreira and Marcela Veiga and by the General Coordinator of the Cine Pojichá project, Bruny Murucci.

4.2. The list of selected works will be officially published on the social networks of the In-Cena Cultural Institute and in the e-mail of those enrolled until October 4, 2021, this period may be extended at the discretion of the Festival Organization . The schedule of this notice is available in ANNEX II.

4.3. The directors of the selected films will be officially informed and invited, via e-mail, to participate in the exhibition sessions, with travel costs being their responsibility.

4.4. The films will be screened according to the schedule to be released by the Festival Organization.

5. SELECTION CRITERIA:

5.1. The Curatorship will adopt the following selection criteria for the entries:
a) Adherence to the theme of the festival;
b) Promotion of cultural and gender diversity (work and team);
c) Quality in technical and narrative aspects.

5.2. At least 1 (one) short and feature film must offer audiovisual accessibility features.

6. COPYRIGHT AND PERSONALITY RIGHTS:

6.1. It is the sole, exclusive and unrestricted responsibility of the proponent who registers the audiovisual work in Cine Pojichá to observe and regularize any and all issues relating to the copyright involved in the work, and it is solely up to him to obtain the proper consent of those involved to use, broadcast and make the audiovisual work available, within the scope provided for in this notice, and must fully comply with current legislation and pay the respective payment, if applicable, exempting the event organization from any burden arising from non-compliance.

7. GENERAL PROVISIONS:

7.1. The Organization is solely responsible for settling possible doubts, as well as taking decisions on issues not covered in this notice.

7.2. Any information, doubts, suggestions and/or guidelines for participation in this selection process will be addressed through the email: producao@incena.org

7.3. The decisions of the Organization and the Selection Committee cannot be appealed.

7.4. All selected works may have excerpts of up to 30 seconds, as well as images used in the dissemination and promotion of the Festival, displayed on television, print and electronic media, at any time, without any burden relating to copyright, as well as the image usage.

7.5. The Festival Organization is not responsible for any costs or fees for sending the film/s and materials.

7.6. The registered films will be incorporated into the Cine Pojichá collection, under the commitment not to be disclosed and/or used for commercial purposes, and may be used for cultural and educational purposes in the permanent free film exhibition programs, even outside the period of the realization of the festival.

7.7. The registration of 1 (one) or more films in the Festival implies full acceptance and compliance with all terms and conditions contained in this notice and the prior authorization of the director to exhibit and broadcast the films in activities related to the event, in this and in subsequent editions , in public places and in free sessions.

7.8. Omitted cases will be resolved by the Festival Organizing Committee.
