It is a space of encounter that has been developed in Quindío since 2020 and where through a formative process in peace, coexistence and reconciliation with young people of the territory, tools are provided so that they can narrate through audiovisual content, their realities and generate proposals that advocate for Peace. In previous versions, more than 40 audiovisual contents have participated, as well as more than 100 teenagers and young people trained in audiovisual production from the pre-production, production and post-production stages.

The winners will receive a STANDARD OR SPECIAL MENTION, and the exhibition of their work in the different spaces provided by the VI IDEAS FOR PEACE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL - 2025.

AUDIOVISUAL CALL – 2025
5th YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL "IDEAS FOR PEACE" – 2025

YMCA Quindío invites directors, filmmakers, and producers to participate with their audiovisual works in the framework of the 6th YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL "IDEAS FOR PEACE" – 2025, which will take place from November 5 to 14, 2025 in Armenia, Colombia. In-person format.

The purpose of this call is to bring together quality film productions, both national and international, aimed at a youth audience, in the following categories:

CATEGORY: LOCAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

1.1 – PROFESSIONAL COMPETITION
Young National and International Filmmakers

A. Best Short Film: Fiction
B. Best Short Film: Documentary
C. Web or Television Series

1.2 – LOCAL COMPETITION
Young filmmakers from the Department of Quindío

A. Best Short Film: Fiction
B. Best Short Film: Documentary
C. Web or Television Series

This invitation to both categories is open to all directors, filmmakers, and producers, whether individuals, legal entities, or collectives.

CATEGORY: Ideas for Peace

This award is aimed at young people who have created an audiovisual work in Quindío, in the following categories:

A. Best Short Film or Film Minute: Fiction
B. Best Short Film or Film Minute: Documentary

NOTE: Audiovisual works produced by young people under 18 years old (and selected for screening at the Festival) must be accompanied by a letter of authorization from their parents or legal guardians in order to participate in the 6th YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL "IDEAS FOR PEACE" – 2025.

NOTE: For these categories, duration must be between 1 and 30 minutes (including credits).

The jury will evaluate all eight categories.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

All audiovisual works produced between January 2021 and October 2025 are eligible for competition.

By registering for the 6th YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL "IDEAS FOR PEACE" – 2025, the author grants free exhibition rights of the work within the framework of the event, for non-commercial purposes.

THEME PROPOSED FOR THIS CALL

THEMATIC AXIS FOR THE 2025 EDITION, IN ANY CATEGORY:
“Peace, Coexistence, and Art for Peace.”

Short films that deviate from the established theme for this edition will not be considered.

PARTICIPATION DATES

Submission deadline: November 1, 2025

Screenings of selected works: November 8–14, 2025

Selected participants must complete the EXHIBITION RIGHTS LICENSE for the Festival.

Failure to provide any of these requirements will nullify the submission.

Submitting a work implies full acceptance of the contest rules.

REQUIREMENTS TO SUBMIT A SHORT FILM

Technical sheet, synopsis, and film poster in JPG at 300 dpi.

The audiovisual work must be submitted with the following specifications:

Resolution: Full HD (1920x1080)

Container: .MOV or .MP4, in both cases with H.264 CODEC

OBSERVATIONS

Shipping costs for audiovisual material in any format to the 6th YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL "IDEAS FOR PEACE" – 2025 will be borne by the participant.

Audiovisual works submitted to the Festival will only be accepted in Spanish or with Spanish subtitles.

Analog formats will not be accepted.

CLASSIFICATION AND EVALUATION PROCESS

The 6th YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL "IDEAS FOR PEACE" – 2025 reserves the right to determine the number of works entering competition.

The Festival’s appointed curatorial team will nominate the works selected for the official competition.

A jury made up of nationally and internationally recognized experts in audiovisuals, arts, and culture will deliberate on the competing works.

The jury’s decision is final.

Non-selected short films will be archived by the YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL "IDEAS FOR PEACE" – 2025.

Selected short films will enter the official competition and must complete an EXHIBITION RIGHTS AGREEMENT to be included in the Festival program.

All participants will be notified of the jury’s final decisions in each category via email. The results will also be published on the official YMCA Quindío website (www.ymcaquindio.org
).

One prize will be awarded per category in competition.

If the works submitted in a category do not meet the technical, aesthetic, or content requirements of the 6th YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL "IDEAS FOR PEACE" – 2025, the jury reserves the right to declare that category void.
