What is the Festival National du Film Scolaire ?
The Festival National du Film Scolaire is the first national cultural and educational event to focus on cinematographic creation in schools. The aim is to develop image education in schools and encourage student creativity through a unifying, motivating, high-quality event.

Closing ceremony for the festival, attended by the jury, prizewinners and guests.

RULES
Who can enter?
The festival is open to schools in France and abroad.
Teachers can register a whole class or a group of students.
The festival is also open to MJCs, cultural centers and any other organization working with school-age children.
The festival is an opportunity for teachers to:
- Involve pupils in a project linked to image education.
- Learn the techniques involved in designing and producing an audiovisual work.
- Integrate digital learning tools into teaching.
- Create a dynamic and motivating class or workshop project.
THEMATIC FILM CATEGORY: EQUALITY
For this 2025 edition, students must address the theme of Equality through a film lasting no more than 12 minutes.
FREE FILM CATEGORY
Students can make a film of up to 15 minutes, with no theme restrictions. This selection gives young filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their work over the past three years.
Filmmaking
- Projects can be made as a whole class or in groups.
- There is no limit to the number of projects accepted per school.
- All forms are accepted: fiction, documentary, animation, etc.
- All music and images used in the film must be credited in the credits.
- Teachers are responsible for the films presented. They must send authorizations for participants' image rights to
at the festival.
Receipt of films
Authorizations for use of images, filming and broadcasting for students appearing on screen must also be included with the submission of projects.
