Cine Falaz welcomes with love all productions that struggle to be recognized in their rebellion against the norm. We blur the boundaries between the real and the fictional, let's be creative, let's break the rules!

Cinema is an art that thrives on the diversity and originality of its creators. At Cine Falaz, we value all those productions that dare to be different and question the established structures. Our goal is to provide a platform for filmmakers who seek to break convention and experiment with new ways of storytelling.

We invite amateur/professional filmmakers, students, communicators, visual artists, and film lovers who have an audiovisual project and are interested in promoting and disseminating their work in different cities around the world, to participate in "Cine Falaz - International Mockumentary Festival" in its 2024 edition.

Our main objective is to host those productions that do not find their place, as they are neither fiction nor documentary. To generate a space where they are seen, promoted, reflected, and talked about.

The projects that make up the official 2024 selection will receive the following benefits.

- Exhibition tours throughout different cities around the world, in independent theaters, film clubs, film libraries, universities, and alternative spaces in person and online.

- Dialogue and feedback with the public.
- Online interviews
- Statistical and visual summary of the project's functions. This includes information on attendance, photographs, and comments from the audience.
- Official recognition
- In-kind award (To be determined)

PARTICIPANTS

Cinematographic works classified as "False Documentary".

Regardless of technique and subject matter

Short films / 05-50 min

Feature Films / 60-120 min.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered, films must be registered through the entry form available on this page.

Entries must be accompanied by digital viewing copies with Spanish subtitles (in case this is not your official language).

The call for entries will be open from February 05th to April 30th, 2024, with a registration fee of 10 USD.

TERMS

Cine Falaz is authorized to exhibit, program, distribute, and promote cinematographic work in each of its venues around the world.

By way of recovery, the venues will be provided with cafeteria and snack services and/or voluntary cooperation/fixed box office for the payment of operating expenses.

If applicable, projects in a language other than Spanish must be subtitled. If you need an extension for subtitling, please send an email to: falaz.mockumentary@gmail.com

Once the screening is over, Cine Falaz will provide you with a certificate of participation. As well as a complete report of the screenings of your work.

If you are interested, Cine Falaz offers the possibility of making you participate in our screenings as a live broadcast, through social networks and web site, allowing you to interact with the public about your work.

There is no registration limit for the number of works registered per filmmaker.

Cine Falaz is authorized to make partial use of the audiovisual material granted for the promotion and dissemination of the exhibition.

Once selected, projects cannot be withdrawn from the exhibition.

The evaluation criteria for the official selection of the exhibition will be the following:

The audiovisual projects will be evaluated by the organizing committee and an invited jury.

The Cine Falaz team will contact you by email to inform you of the program, venues and schedules in case you are selected.

The call will remain open for the reception of projects:

FEBRUARY 05, 2024 - APRIL 30, 2024.

We will announce the official selection via email and social networks: 15 JULY 2024.

The festival will take place from September 9 to 20, 2024.
