Roma Film Corto is an international festival dedicated to short films and to the promotion of independent cinema. Now in its 18th edition, it offers emerging directors and established filmmakers a prestigious showcase in the heart of Rome.

The festival welcomes short films, documentaries, docufilms and animated films, promoting works that stand out for artistic quality, narrative originality and expressive strength. Selected works are evaluated by the Artistic Direction, a Selection Committee, and a qualified Jury composed of audiovisual professionals.

Roma Film Corto also represents an important opportunity for visibility and networking, encouraging connections between filmmakers, producers, distributors and industry professionals.

Presented to the best work in competition.

“Ettore Scola” Award
Presented to the best short film produced in Italy and/or directed by an Italian filmmaker.

Presented to the best film in the international section.

Submissions by email are not accepted, except in the case of production companies submitting multiple works.

Eligibility
All works must have been completed on or after January 1, 2025.

Works already submitted for the 2025 edition will be automatically considered for the 2026 edition, provided they comply with the Festival regulations. In such cases, resubmission is not required.

Required Materials
Selected participants may be asked to provide:

completed participation form

signed release form

film synopsis

biography of the director and key collaborators

at least two stills from the film and one photo of the director/author

trailer

Technical Requirements
Each author may submit a maximum of two works per section.
Films must be available in MP4 or MOV Full HD format through downloadable links.
International works must include Italian subtitles.

Artificial Intelligence
Works created entirely with artificial intelligence tools will not be accepted. The Festival also reserves the right to exclude works in which the use of artificial intelligence is considered predominant over human creative contribution.
