BLEU PARIS is an independent international film festival dedicated to films in which the color blue plays a central artistic, emotional, or symbolic role.

Created in Paris, the festival celebrates emerging cinema, singular artistic visions, and bold storytelling through carefully curated screenings bringing together filmmakers, artists, and audiences around a shared fascination for the many shades of blue.

The 5th edition, entitled Furiously Blue, will take place on March 5–6, 2027, in a renowned Parisian cinema.

The festival is structured around three sections:

• Official Selection — short films (1–25 min) competing for the Blue Prize and the Audience Award

• Mid-Length Selection — mid-length films (26–60 min) competing for the Mid-Length Jury Prize

• Blue Laboratory — an off-competition program dedicated to experimental, daring, and unconventional works

The Blue Prize includes a €300 financial grant made possible thanks to the support of the festival’s sponsor.

BLEU PARIS welcomes professional and independent filmmakers from all countries and backgrounds.

More than a competition, BLEU PARIS aims to create a poetic, cinematic, and immersive experience where blue becomes a language of its own.

Cash Prizes: 300€

• Blue Prize (Jury Prize)
Main award of the Official Selection, presented to the most outstanding short film of the competition.
Includes a €300 financial grant made possible thanks to the support of the festival’s sponsor.

• Audience Award
Presented to the audience’s favorite film of the Official Selection.

• Mid-Length Jury Prize
Awarded to the most remarkable film of the Mid-Length Selection (26–60 min).

In addition to the awards, selected and winning films benefit from visibility through the festival’s communication channels, social media platforms, and partner network.

Section 1

5th Edition: Furiously Blue March 5–6, 2027
The BLEU PARIS Short Film Festival is an international festival open to all filmmakers, of all ages and backgrounds, whether professional or amateur.

The festival highlights cinema in which the color blue plays an important role, bringing together all those passionate about this singular shade.

The festival is organized by the association Bleu Paris Festival de Court Métrage (Bleu Paris FCM), headquartered at 4 ter rue Victor Chevreuil, 75012 Paris, France.

The 5th edition of the festival, entitled Furiously Blue, will take place on March 5 and 6, 2027, in a renowned Parisian cinema.

Section 2.
To facilitate the organization, filmmakers are invited to submit their films online.

Short Films (1 to 25 minutes)

• Early Birds: €15 (July 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
• Regular deadline: €20 (September 1, 2026 – November 30, 2026)
• Late deadline: €25 (December 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026)

Mid-length Films (26 to 60 minutes)

• Early Birds: €25 (July 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
• Regular deadline: €30 (September 1, 2026 – November 30, 2026)
• Late deadline: €35 (December 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026)

The festival is open to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Section 3.
Shipping and submission costs are the responsibility of the participants.

Section 4.
Films must be submitted in a downloadable digital format.

Short Films
Short films must have a running time between 1 and 25 minutes.

Mid-length Films
Mid-length films must have a running time between 26 and 60 minutes.

A participant may submit several films, but only one film per director may be selected.

For the selection process, non-French-speaking films must be translated or subtitled in French.

Any non-French-speaking film selected for the festival must be provided with French subtitles.

The festival will permanently archive the selected films. Participants are responsible for keeping a copy of their work.

Section 5.
Each participant declares that they are the author or rights holder of the submitted work and that they hold all literary, dramatic, artistic, audiovisual, iconographic, and musical rights related to the film.

The participant guarantees Bleu Paris FCM against any claims or legal actions from any third party involved in the production of the film.

Filmmakers are responsible for ensuring compliance with French legislation.

A ProRes version of selected competition films will be required.

The use of free online transfer tools for large files is recommended (WeTransfer, SwissTransfer, Vimeo, YouTube, etc.).

Section 6.
A pre-selection committee appointed by the festival organizers within the association will review all submitted films.

Any film received after the submission deadline will not be considered.

The selection committee will evaluate films according to the following criteria:

• Direction
• Screenplay
• Acting
• Cinematography
• Sound
• duration
• Subtitling quality

The committee’s deliberations are confidential and final.

Section 7.
Directors or producers will be notified by email only if their film has been selected.

Section 8.
Participation in the festival grants the organizers the right, free of charge and without compensation, to publicly screen the submitted work, either in full or in excerpts, for promotional or non-commercial purposes. Images or excerpts from selected films may be used for future festival communications.
Participation also implies authorization for excerpts to be broadcast in media, television, and on the internet. Participants declare and guarantee that all music rights used in the film belong to them, are in the public domain, or have been legally acquired from composers or rights management organizations (SACEM, SPPF, SCPP, etc.).
Participants are encouraged to share their social media accounts so the festival may tag them in publications.

Section 9.
The jury is composed of volunteers with diverse artistic sensibilities, including professionals from the visual arts and film industries.

The selection committee will choose:

Official Selection
5 to 15 short films presented in official competition.

Mid-length Selection
2 to 4 mid-length films presented during a dedicated screening on Friday, March 5, 2027.

Blue Laboratory

A special screening entitled Blue Laboratory will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2027, showcasing films not selected for the official competition but presenting artistic, experimental, or singular qualities.
Films screened as part of the Blue Laboratory are not eligible for awards.

Section 10.
The awards ceremony will take place following the screenings, in the presence of jury members and invited guests.

The following awards will be presented:

• The Blue Prize (Jury Prize)
• The Audience Award
• The Mid-length Jury Prize

The Blue Prize includes a financial grant of €300, made possible thanks to the support of the festival’s sponsor.

Bleu Paris FCM reserves the right to remove or add awards if deemed necessary by the organization.

Section 11.
In the event of Force Majeure beyond its control, the BPFCM reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event (no compensation may be claimed).

Section 12.
Participation in the BLEU PARIS Festival implies full acceptance of these rules by the producer, director or their representative.

Section 13. Copyright and Intellectual Property
Participants are responsible for ensuring their films do not violate copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or any other intellectual property rights. Any copyright infringement will result in immediate disqualification.

Section 14. Liability
The festival is not responsible for any loss or damage to submitted works. Participants should retain a copy of their works prior to submission.

Section 15. Promotion and Partnerships
Participants agree that their films may be used in the promotion of the festival, including but not limited to screenings at partner events, publications on social media, and on the official festival website.

Section 16. Security and Privacy
All personal information collected during submission will be used solely for administrative and communication purposes related to the festival. Data will not be shared with third parties without the explicit consent of participants.

Section 17. Entries and Selections
All entries must be submitted online via the festival's official website. Films selected for the official competition and Off screenings will be announced on Instagram, TikTok, the official website and by e-mail.


Section 18. awards and Benefits
There are no monetary rewards planned as we are a small association. However, award-winning films will benefit from various opportunities for distribution and visibility through the festival's partners.
