Welcome to the first film festival in Barlad City!

The Barlad International Film Festival is a cinematic journey that transcends borders, bringing together filmmakers, artists, and cinephiles from around the world. This annual event showcases a diverse selection of compelling films, ranging from thought-provoking documentaries to mesmerizing fiction features.

The event will take place at Cinema Cityplex Victoria Bârlad.

International Film Screenings: Immerse yourself in a world of storytelling through a curated selection of films representing different genres, cultures, and perspectives.

Q&A Sessions: Engage with filmmakers and industry experts as they share insights into the creative process, storytelling techniques, and the challenges of filmmaking.

Cultural Exchange: Experience the rich tapestry of global cinema and engage in discussions that transcend language barriers. Connect with fellow film enthusiasts and build lasting connections.

Awards Ceremony: Celebrate outstanding contributions to the world of cinema as we honor the best films, directors, actors, and more. Be part of the excitement as the festival recognizes exceptional talent.

At the Barlad International Film Festival, we believe in honoring excellence in cinema and recognizing the outstanding contributions of filmmakers. While our focus is on celebrating artistic achievement, we choose to acknowledge talent with symbolic gestures that reflect the prestige of the festival. Winners in various categories will receive personalized diplomas and beautifully crafted trophies as a testament to their creativity and dedication to the art of filmmaking.

All the selected films will be screened at Republica Cinema in Barlad.

Here are the awards:

Best International Short Film Award:
Diploma: A personalized diploma recognizing the film as the "Best Film" at the Barlad International Film Festival.
Trophy: An exquisite trophy symbolizing excellence in filmmaking, presented to the director and key contributors.

Best International Feature Film Award:
Diploma: A specialized diploma acknowledging the best international feature film award.
Trophy: A distinctive trophy honoring the director's outstanding achievement and leadership in the filmmaking process.

Best Actor and Best Actress:
Diploma: Personalized diplomas recognizing the extraordinary performances of the Best Actor and Best Actress.
Trophy: Artfully designed trophies presented to the actors for their remarkable contributions to the art of storytelling.

Best Cinematography:
Diploma: A diploma highlighting the excellence in cinematography that enhances the visual storytelling.
Trophy: A trophy recognizing the cinematographer's skill in capturing compelling and visually stunning moments on screen.

Best Animation Short:
Diploma: A personalized diploma acknowledging the creativity and impact of the Best Animation Short.
Trophy: A unique trophy presented to the filmmakers in the Best Animation Short category.

Best Documentary Short:
Diploma: A specialized diploma recognizing the artistry and impact of the Best Documentary Short.
Trophy: A unique trophy presented to the filmmakers in the documentary short category.

Best Romanian Short Film:
Diploma: A distinct diploma celebrating the artistic prowess and storytelling excellence of the Best Romanian Short Film.
Trophy: An exclusive trophy presented to the filmmakers, highlighting their contribution to the rich cinematic landscape of Romania.

Best Experimental Short:
Diploma: An avant-garde diploma recognizing the innovative and boundary-pushing qualities of the Best Experimental Short.
Trophy: A cutting-edge trophy presented to the filmmakers, showcasing their commitment to pushing the boundaries of cinematic expression.

Submitting your movie, you authorize Bârlad International Film Festival (BIFF) to use, distribute and share the film poster, trailer, teaser, synopsis and movie stills in our website and / or social media.

The selected films will be promoted on our social networks. All selected films will receive the Official Selection laurels by email. All winning films will receive the winner's laurels for the category and a certificate by email. All winners will be announced during awards gala, when they will receive the trophy.

JURY

- The BIFF selection committee and the jury's decision are final;
- BIFF does not provide feedback on the films entered or on the jury's decision.

NOTIFICATION

- The status of submissions will be disclosed through our submitting platforms and it is the submitter’s full responsibility to track the status of their submission;

USAGE RIGHTS

- By submitting a film, the participant declares and warrants that he or she has all the rights of use necessary to use the film under this agreement and that when using the film in the context of this agreement, no third party rights, including the persons portrayed in the film, will be violated. You agree to indemnify and hold BIFF liable for and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages and expenses (including, but not limited to, attorney fees and court fees) that may be incurred by reason for any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening and loss or damage to videos submitted for the festival.

- BIFF Is not responsible for any copyright infringement or unauthorized use;

-BIFF reserves the right to make any changes in the festival configuration without prior notice, if necessary.
- Entry fee is non refundable.
The winning film and also the best nominated films based on jury scoring will be screened within the festival.

  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
