PLACE AND DATE

The Itinerant Festival Cine en Mi Barrio – FICEMB holds its central week in the city of Popayán, Cauca. It is a space for meeting, circulation, and film training which, in its 12th edition, aims to bring together a diverse selection of short films that combine narrative quality, aesthetic freshness, thematic depth, and territorial authenticity.

For this edition, the festival opens its call to works from community and social cinema, as well as independent and commercial cinema, including proposals of high technical and creative level that connect with the audience through entertainment, emotion, or reflection.

SUBMISSION CONDITIONS

Producers or filmmakers from any part of the national territory or Ibero-America who hold the rights to the submitted works may participate.

FICEMB Popayán 2025 will have 3 categories:

National Short Films. All animated, documentary, or fiction short films produced after June 30, 2023 will be accepted.

Regional Perspectives Short Films. This section pays tribute to the voices, faces, and landscapes of southwestern Colombia. Regional Perspectives brings together short films created by filmmakers from Cauca and neighboring departments, who tell intimate, everyday stories deeply connected with local identity.

Ibero-American Short Films. All animated, documentary, or fiction short films produced after June 30, 2023 will be accepted. The registration of international short films will have a fee of €2, payable through the Festhome submission platform.

The duration of submitted works may not exceed 30 minutes.

Each participant may submit as many films as they wish.

Short films that have been submitted in previous editions may not participate.

Participants authorize the FICEMB organization to use extracts from the short films for dissemination in any media in order to promote the festival. Likewise, FICEMB may use photographs of the films and directors in the press and other media, as well as in the preparation of the festival catalog.
