ACOCOLLONA’T 2026 PITCH GUIDELINES

Acocollona’t – Girona Fantastic and Horror Film Festival is launching a pitch session aimed at promoting new audiovisual projects and connecting their creators with industry professionals.

Out of all the projects submitted, only 6 projects will be selected to participate in the professional session, which will take place on the morning of Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Girona.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Audiovisual projects connected to Girona or the rest of Catalonia may be submitted, whether through the residence of their creators, the production company, filming locations, subject matter, or any other significant connection to the territory.

Projects may be submitted in Catalan or English.

We are looking for projects that are still in the development stage and could benefit from professional advice and contact with producers.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUBMIT?

To participate, applicants must submit a PDF dossier containing, in a clear and concise format:

Title and logline.
Synopsis.
Brief project description.
Statement of intent.
Information about the project’s creators.
Current status of the project.
Approximate budget, if available.
Visual references, if any.

We are not looking for endless dossiers. We want to get to know the project, understand what kind of film you want to make, and know what stage it is currently at.

Submission deadline: [DATE].

THE 6 SELECTED PROJECTS

The six selected projects will participate in a session divided into three parts.

Pitch Workshop

Before presenting to the producers, participants will take part in a two-hour workshop to prepare and improve their pitch, led by Javier Rueda, a professional involved with markets and festivals such as Madd Market and Sombra.

Pitch

Each project will have:

5 minutes for the presentation + 1 minute for questions.

The pitch will be presented to 6 producers and film industry professionals.

Participants may use graphic or audiovisual materials as supporting material.

One-to-One Meetings

Following the pitches, individual meetings will be held between the selected projects and the invited producers.

This will be an opportunity to receive feedback, present the project in greater depth, establish contacts, and explore potential avenues for development, production, or collaboration.

SELECTION

The Acocollona’t organization will select the six participating projects based on their quality, originality, viability, distinctive voice, and development potential.

The selection will be communicated in advance to the project representatives.

Selected projects must commit to participating in person in Girona on the morning of Saturday, September 12.

RIGHTS

The projects will remain, at all times, the property of their authors.

Participation in the pitch or in meetings with producers does not imply any transfer of rights or production commitment.

Submission to the call implies acceptance of these guidelines.
