The Addis International Film Festival is an annual event organized by Initiative Africa. It is a unique initiative seeking to use the power of documentaries and short films to support innovative ways of creating awareness of social issues. Every year AIFF showcases films made by a diverse group of both seasoned and emerging filmmakers who have documented information essential for analyzing issues that affect society

Welcome to the 16th annual Addis International Film Festival (AIFF). For the last fifteen years AIFF has provided new and experienced filmmakers from around the world an opportunity to showcase their work, interact with other aspiring filmmakers, and network among industry professionals. After last year's success, the 16th Edition of the festival is scheduled to take place from May 25 - May 29, 2022.

This year IA organizes the 16th edition of the Addis International Film festival, with the focus on:

1. Big Data and its implication on Human Right
2. Humanitarian crisis and Conflict
3. Inclusivity in Human Right: Race, Culture and Disability
4. Pandemic and its Aftermath
5. Gender and Labour

AIFF is now accepting film submissions until May 1, 2022.

REQUIREMENTS:

•Only films completed after January 2019 are eligible to apply.

•AIFF accepts shorts (under 30min) and Feature length films (over 50min).

•Genres shown at AIFF include Documentary, animation, experimental and narrative.

•Films made in languages other than English should have subtitles in English.
