HorrorQuest Film Festival is Atlanta's FREE Horror Film Festival. Held each year at Cinefest Film Theatre, located on the Georgia State University campus. All HorrorQuest screenings and events are free and open to the public on a first come, first served, basis. There are no advanced or VIP tickets.

Named one of the "Top 10 Film Festivals Every Filmmaker Should Know About" by Movie Maker Magazine, HorrorQuest has been praised by Filmmakers such as Kevin Smith (Clerks) and Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger) for it's business model and ethics.

While HorrorQuest offers no monetary awards or prizes the festival does release a list naming, "Best of Quest", "Best Director", "Best Kill", "Best Short" and many others.

HorrorQuest considers itself a "Horror & Genre" festival and welcomes submissions in the following categories.

Horror.
Fantasy.
Sci-Fi.
Thriller.
Dark Comedy.
Experimental
Splatter-punk
Music Video (If it has a rock/metal/horror/genre theme).
Documentary (If the subject is horror/genre related).
or Animation of any kind.

Before submitting, please make sure your film adheres to the following...

1: The film was made or completed within the last three years and will not be publicly available (DVD, Digital) before the festival date.

2: The film contains no genuine acts of violence. (Animal curelty, Rape, Murder). Any film believed to be in violation of this rule will be reported.

3: The Film Is a completed product, no works in progress.

4: Film does not use any copyrighted material you do not own or have permission to use.

5: Contains subtitles or is dubbed in English, if in an foreign language.

By submitting your film to HorrorQuest you grant HorrorQuest the right to use audio/video from your film (still, trailers, etc) for promotional use. HorrorQuest suggests that you provide a trailer for your film that we can share with out followers on social media.

WAVIERS
HorrorQuest will grant a free submission wavier under the following circumstances.
1: You had your film screened as part of HorrorQuest during the last two years.
2: Your film has received an award from HorrorQuest (Best of Quest, Best Director, etc).
3: You are a local filmmaker, living in Georgia or the Atlanta area.
4: You are a student (high school) or currently enrolled in a film studies program.
(proof of current enrollment will be be requested)
