The Festival is being held for the third time in Barcelona, preserving the essence of this unique cinematic experience. The aim of the Festival is to present Spanish and international audiences with a selection of Argentine short and feature films, in an effort to highlight contemporary artistic trends and the talented Argentine filmmakers, featuring films produced from January 2025 to the present day. This edition of the Festival seeks to build cultural bridges between Argentina and Spain through the seventh art. We believe the festival will be an effective means of fostering mutual understanding and strengthening the ties between both nations.
Likewise, we hope this event will provide an opportunity for the Argentine community in Barcelona to strengthen its cultural bonds, and for Spanish and Catalan audiences to appreciate and discover the richness of Argentine cinema. The initiative has been enthusiastically received by both the local community and residents interested in exploring contemporary Argentine cinema.
Individual objectives:
To project Argentina and Spain as cinematic settings and centers of film production.
To promote cultural diversity through the production and promotion of new films.
To support emerging creative initiatives in contemporary cinema, especially films shot in Argentina and Spain.
To promote the creation of social ties between Spain and Argentina.
To strengthen cooperative relationships between companies and creators.
BAAR has the official support of the Argentine Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

3.3 Participation in the Festival and submission via Festhome imply the granting of the right to screen the film during the Festival, as determined by the Festival.

4. Requirements Prior to Film Selection
In order to view and promote the selected films, the following materials must be submitted. Failure to deliver these materials within a reasonable timeframe will be grounds for cancellation of participation.
4.1 The film in DCP format will be prioritized for screening.
4.2 High-definition promotional materials for the film, to be used in the creation of Festival promotional content such as printed and digital advertisements and cinema trailers. All materials are the responsibility of the applicants. The Festival will handle the translation of texts into Spanish or Catalan at no additional cost to the applicant and/or producers.

In cases where there is official representation or distribution in Spain, confirmation that the film will be granted free of charge within the competitive section of the Festival is required. Certification must be in English or Spanish.
5. ANNEX
Some of the films submitted to the Festival may be selected to take part in alternative screenings organized by the same institution during the Festival or throughout the year. These screenings take place in various venues across the city of Barcelona (or beyond) and are primarily aimed at promoting and giving visibility to Argentine cinema by bringing it closer to diverse audiences. These complementary activities help expand the reach of the selected productions and consolidate their presence within the cultural circuit of the autonomous community. For this reason, the earlier a film is submitted, the greater its chances of participating in this initiative. Certain films may be screened in alternative spaces in addition to official cinema screenings, and their participation may fall outside the competitive section.
