The Barcelona Olympic Foundation, with the support of the Barcelona City Council, organizes the BCN Sports Film 2025 – 15th BARCELONA INTERNATIONAL FICTS FESTIVAL and forms part of the WORLD FICTS CHALLENGE 2025.
The BCN Sports Film 2025 will be held in Barcelona from 17th to 25th February 2025. This fifteenth edition of the Festival will have a competitive nature.
The fifteenth edition of the festival will have a hybrid format so, there will be face-to-face screenings and online screenings. The rights that the authors assign, therefore, are both for the face-to-face sessions that are held in the official venues of the contest, as well as for the sessions that will be held online through an online platform.
These Rules & Regulations have been approved by the BCN Sports Film 2025 Organising Committee. Your taking part in BCN Sports Film 2025 implies the total acceptance of these regulations.

PRIZES
Selected Films will be competing for:
• The City of Barcelona Amphora for the best film, gifted with 1000 €
• Jury Special Award, gifted with 750 €
• Award for the best Catalan production, gifted with 500 €
• Award for the best adventure sports film – Álvaro Bultó, gofted with 500 €
• Award for the best fiction film, gifted with 500 €
• Award for the best documentary, gifted with 500 €
• Award for the best animated film, gifted with 500 €
• Award “Sport and society”, gifted with 500 €
The BCN Sports Film 2025 official jury may make as many special mentions as they deem fit.
Festival sponsors may endow other awards with prizes in cash or kind.
Withholding will be applied to this amount according to current legislation.
AIMS
One of the principal objectives of BCN Sports Film 2025 is to bring the general public into contact with sports-orientated audiovisual content and the values that they represent. Whilst offering the media, film directors, producers and specialised distributors a meeting place in which they can exchange views and information.
CONTENT
The BCN Sports Film 2025 is open to all those productions in which the principal subject matter is that of sport in all its forms and disciplines.
Genres included: animated films, documentaries and fiction, from shorts to feature length films.
GENERAL RULES
BCN Sports Film 2025 is open to both professional and independent productions.
BCN Sports Film 2025 will admit all films produced from 1st January 2022.
The maximum length of the works presented at the BCN Sports Film 2025 will be 90 minutes.
Each producer may present as many films as he wishes as long as they comply with all other regulations.
Therefore, the participant guarantees that he has all the exploitation rights over the work to be able to participate in the competition and the participant exempts the organizers from any claim that may arise from third parties in relation to intellectual property rights.
BCN Sports Film 2025 Organising Committee may programme non-competing films of general interest whatever their date of production or their length.
JURY
The BCN Sports Film 2025 Organizing Committee will appoint members to both the festival’s selection jury and official jury. Each jury of the BCN Sports Film 2025 will comprise individuals connected to sports, cinema, the audiovisual sector, and culture.
INSCRIPTIONS
Inscriptions will be accepted from 1st May 2024 till 30th September 2024, both inclusive.
Each participant shall have submitted the registration form and video through: https://festhome.com/ or using the festival website.
Registration implies acceptance of these rules and the conditions of use of the web pages.
SELECTED WORKS
The Organizing Committee will notify participants by email and before 29th October 2024 should film have been selected for the BCN Sports Film 2025 official competition.
Other promotional material may be requested by the organization.
The organization will provide the subtitles in Catalan or Spanish for exclusive use during the event.
All selected works will be included in the schedule of the fifteenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival and will be screened either in person or virtually during one or more sessions of the festival:
• Educational sessions for schools.
• General and/or special screenings of the fifteenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival.
• Sessions for penitentiary centres.
ON-SITE SCREENINGS
General and/or special schedule of school sessions of the fifteenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival.
• All screenings will be part of one or more sessions of the BCN Sports Film Festival with open access for school audiences or the general audience.
Sessions for prisons
• Selected films for prison sessions will be screened in private sessions, not open to the general public. These sessions will only be available during the running dates of the fifteenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival.
VIRTUAL SCREENINGS
Educational sessions for schools
• Selected works for virtual school sessions will be screened in password-protected virtual sessions accessible to schools that request access via the website. These sessions will take place during the first quarter of 2025, with a maximum duration of three months. They will be exclusively offered to educational and/or training centers and will be supported by educational materials developed by Filmclub to assist educators.
General and/or special schedule of the fifteenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival
• All productions will be available on the virtual platform Festhome during the 10 days of the festival, with free access. After the festival concludes, the productions will no longer be available.
SCREENINGS
Those films selected to participate will be screened as scheduled in the 2025 Festival Programme.
The films selected for the competition will be integrated into the documentary and videographic collection of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and may be shown publicly in the screening spaces of the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum, headquarters of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation exclusively for pedagogical or didactic purposes, and always as a means of promoting the festival, thus ceding to the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, only the exploitation rights in the indicated mode of reproduction and public communication.
Awarded films and special mentions
• Only films awarded in the 2025 edition and approved for the prize may be screened as promotion for the 2026 edition, with a single airing on a channel of the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (Catalan Broadcasting Corporation). Any other potential screening on different channels will require negotiation of rights between the involved entities. The BCN Sports Film Festival organization may assist in this negotiation process.
• Winning productions will enter the final phase of the WORLD FICTS CHALLENGE international circuit. Winners authorise the BCN Sports Film Festival 2025 Organising Committee to share their contact details to the WORLD FICTS CHALLENGE festival organizing committees. The organizers will not distribute any copies of the film to third parties without prior authorization from the producers or legal representatives.
• Awarded films and special mentions from the 2025 edition will be featured on the FILMIN platform (Spain) until 31 December 2025. Profits derived from their streaming on FILMIN will be remitted, via the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica (FBO), to the LICENSOR (producer or director of the screening). The FBO will act solely as an intermediary in processing these benefits.
As established by FILMIN:
1. The net revenues (the Recommended Retail Price after VAT deduction) obtained from the online exhibition of the CONTENT in the specified forms of dissemination, terms, and characteristics shall be distributed as follows:
• The LICENSOR shall receive 60% of the net revenue generated by sales in TVOD format.
2. For SVOD format, net revenues shall be calculated by aggregating the total number of accesses to THE CONTENT made by all FILMIN subscribers, their applications, channels, and FILMIN-operated services during the settlement period, and multiplying by the established price per access.
• The LICENSOR will receive 60% of the net revenue generated by SVOD sales.
3. Payment will be made by the FBO upon receipt by FILMIN of the viewing report and payment, and once the invoice has been processed.
Participants also authorise the Organising Committee to partially reproduce their films in the media with the aim of promoting the 2025 BCN SPORTS FILM festival.

I.- GOAL
The Barcelona Olympic Foundation (FBO) domiciled in Barcelona, Avinguda de l'Estadi, 60 and VAT Nº G-60309655 is organising, with the collaboration of the Sport newspaper, the 2025 SPOTSPORT Competition with the aim of producing a twenty seconds (20’’) video to promote the 15th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival and which will form the basis of the publicity campaign.
II.- AIM
One of the goals of the initiative is to stimulate the active participation of the public in the 15th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival, which will be held predictably in Barcelona from 17th to 25th February 2025.
III.- DATES
Spots can be submitted from 2nd May till 30th September 2024 at 23:59.
IV.- PRIZES
1. The winner of the competition will be awarded a cash prize of € 1,000.
2. The prize will be presented during the opening ceremony of the 15th BCN Sports Film Festival predictably on 17th February 2025.
3. The FBO will withhold all taxes as legally prescribed and will advise the Tax Authorities of all monies paid out. For tax purposes, the prize-winner will be provided with a certificate specifying amounts withheld.
V.- HOW TO PARTICIPATE
1. Participation is free of charge.
2. To take part in the competition you must:
a) Fill out the form on the BCN Sports Film Festival web page: https://www.bcnsportsfilm.org
b) Send the video by WeTransfer (www.wetransfer.com) to: coordination@bcnsportsfilm.org
c) Participants are allowed to submit one entry only.
Participants are responsible for the accuracy of information provided and the FBO reserves the right to exclude any user who is considered to have falsified data or submitted them incorrectly, without prejudice of any legal actions that may be considered pertinent.
As far as participation is concerned only forms correctly completed with all required fields will be admitted.
Any participant not complying with any of these Terms & Conditions will be automatically excluded.
All videos submitted must be unpublished originals to which the participant owns sole rights.
It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain all pertinent authorisations for use of the images, voices and names of the persons who appear in the video, as well as the music which may be used. Any minors appearing shall be explicitly authorised by their parents or legal guardians. All the aforementioned authorisations will permit FBO to use the videos submitted as they see fit and on all the media in which the Festival is be promoted.
No employees of the FBO, sister companies nor any person or entity associated with or servicing this competition may take part.
The FBO will not admit videos which they deem:
• To contain offensive or to be contrary to the spirit of the FBO.
• To contain reference to violence, sex or drugs.
• May or might infringe the rights of authors, copyright, licence or any third-party rights.
The FBO reserves the right to evaluate the possible offensive character of the material submitted.
VI.- TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS.
Total length of the video shall be 20 seconds (20”).
General Specifications:
• Resolution: between 720 and 1080 p.
• One of the following formats:.mov /.mpeg /.avi (if possible with H264 compression).
• Maximum file size: 2 GB.
VII.- HOW THE PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED
The jury will comprise members of the BCN Sports Film Festival Organising Committee and the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sport Museum and will award to prize for the originality of the idea behind the project, the coherence of the production and the promotional goals of the video.
The prize may be declared void should none of the videos fulfil the objectives of the competition.
There shall be one single winner who will be advised within 15 working days of the 30th September 2024 deadline.
The winner shall accept the prize in writing within 15 working days from the date of communication.
Should the FBO be unable to contact the winner within the specified deadlines, or should the winner decline the prize, all rights shall be forfeited. The FBO will then award the prize to the reserves in the order in which the jury shall have classified the videos submitted.
The prize-winner expressly authorises the FBO to use his name in any communication connected to the competition.
VIII.- RIGHTS ON PARTICIPATING VIDEOS
All videos that participate in the 2025 SPOTSPORT Contest can be published on the website of the Sport newspaper, sponsor of the contest, to promote the festival through this communication tool.
IX.- RIGHTS OF THE WINNING VIDEO
Notwithstanding the author's moral rights, unlimited worldwide rights in aeternum to the video shall be granted to the FBO for exhibition in whatsoever form or support (television, on-line channels) and any such platform the FBO may decide.
Specifically, the winner grants the FBO all rights to reproduce, modify, dub, distribute and make public in all supports and using any distribution or image techniques. These rights refer to the complete video or parts thereof with the sole limitation as specified in the Royalties Laws however the video may be exhibited and expressly including Internet and works derived there from.
The prize awarded is considered the payment for the rights granted in the preceding paragraph, thus the winner shall have no further claim on the FBO.
Ulterior use of the video by the FBO or delegated entities includes the obligation to identify the author unless expressly constrained not to do so. The credits shall include the complete name of the producer.
The participants guarantee that:
They are the owners of the videos submitted or have acquired exclusive licence to use the video in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
That they own all licences, royalty and industrial rights, rights for the use of the images of third persons that may appear in the video and the music therein.
Are authorised to grant these rights to the FBO for all the uses as set out in these Terms & Conditions in paragraph VIII.
Furthermore, the participants agree to indemnify the FBO or authorised third parties for any action or claim for the infringements of rights that may arise from the use of this material.
