DIVERSE CINEMA

International LGBT Film Festival of Colombia

We touch the fibers of the human being through the projection and circulation of inclusive and friendly cinema with the community; recognizing and rewarding the new acting talents of the continent and generating value to diverse communities and the Seventh Art, to change the stereotypes of Colombian society.

With our “OWN BRAND” Diverso Cinema we promote Latin American and world cinema through films, documentaries, short films and feature films that tell stories of the lives of diverse communities.

We have opened inclusive spaces such as: (Universities, Theaters, Restaurants and Bars) for the projection of films that leave an education in the spectators, encouraging a two-way economic interaction that benefits the community.

We generate income through the sale of the Ticket Office, promoting new experiences combining the seventh art and cultural tourism.

“We have managed to impact more than 3,000 spectators in general; in cities where we have screened FILMS, DOCUMENTS, SHORT FILMS, and FEATURES among others, many of them based on real events by people like you or me.

It will include competitions for feature films, short films, documentaries, web series and Works in Progress (see ARTICLE 4); in addition to different parallel and retrospective sections.

ARTICLE 2
Registration to the festival is free and is open for national and international films; long, medium and short film; fiction, animation, comedy, documentary and experimental films.

ARTICLE 3
Registration closing:
To present a film at the Diverso Cinema Festival, it is necessary to complete the registration form before October 15, 2024 through the platform www.FestHome.com by entering the following link: https://festhome.com/f/4165/

All film projects will be received digitally. The shipping, export and import costs of the videos and copies for their selection and participation are in charge of their owners. The DVDs that are sent to the Festival to apply to be selected will not be returned as they are part of the festival's historical archive.

ARTICLE 4
Competencies:
The Diverso Cinema 2024 festival will have four competitive sections:

- Official International Feature Film Competition.

- Official International Short Film Competition.

- Official International Documentary Competition.

- Official International Competition of Web Series.

National and international feature films, documentaries and fiction participate in the International Competitions. Films must have been finished in 16mm, 35mm, HD or higher, with mandatory subtitles in Spanish or english. They must have been completed between 2023 and the first semester of 2024. Films that have been premiered in other countries or competed in festivals are not invalidated to integrate the Competitions. The festival organization may modify or cancel any of the competitions if it considers that there is not enough material with the category to integrate them. The festival will appoint a jury made up of at least three members, of which at least 1 in three must be personalities from outside the organizing country. The Jury will eventually award the special mentions it considers, having to indicate the motivation that makes them worthy of them. The award cannot be ex-aequo. The award will be received by a simple majority of the jury or by a majority of votes through the festival's social networks; according to the case.

ARTICLE 5
If a film is selected in Diverso Cinema 2024, the Festival will notify and send the respective "Laurels" to the applicant (director, producer, distributor or sales agent), and the latter must send the materials requested in the Registration Form to brevity. These materials will be used for the Catalog on the website www.diversocinema.co, press, advertising on the festival's social networks, exhibition and dissemination within the framework of the 2024 Festival.

ARTICLE 6

The Festival may use national and international fragments of the films - of a maximum of 3 minutes - for promotional purposes (for short films, the duration of the fragments may not exceed 20% of the final duration of the works). If the fragments are not available from the producer of the film, the Festival may copy one or more fragments of the film to be used for promotional purposes during the Festival. In order to disseminate the programming and each of the selected participating films, the Festival may use photos and digital clips (less than 3 minutes) of the films on its website and social networks of the festival.

ARTICLE 7
The selected films will be available in the Festival's online Video Library for a pre-established period of time, which subscribers will be able to access with a login password sent directly to the user. The video library will be for the exclusive use of the press and accredited guests of the Festival. By accepting to be part of the Festival, those who hold the rights grant permission for their film to be included, unless they express otherwise in the registration form. For these purposes, the producers of the selected films will be required to provide the festival with copies in the format that will be duly requested. Demos and trailers will be received and distributed at the Festival.

ARTICLE 8
The producers and distributors of those films that win awards undertake to highlight them in all their digital and printed advertising and press material, using the Festival logo and the Laurels. This commitment applies to both commercial theatrical releases and commercial digital releases. This logo will be sent by email co to selected projects. Any prize awarded, which is not received at the Closing Ceremony, may be picked up at the Festival offices, up to one month after the end of the event.

ARTICLE 9
The films scheduled -in any of the Sections- may not be commercially released in the country until the end of the Festival. They may not be publicly exhibited in any other area other than the framework of the Festival, until the end of the Festival.

ARTICLE 10
Each film may have up to five (5) screenings during the Festival and five (5) screenings after the festival, including an additional one for the press, if necessary. In addition, itinerant screenings may be scheduled within the Colombian territory in the locations that the festival organization deems necessary.

ARTICLE 11
The films will be presented in the language of the country of origin, with electronic subtitles in Spanish.

ARTICLE 12
Once a film is scheduled, it cannot be withdrawn from the Festival by the participant, however the jury has the power to limit its screening to festival subscribers, in the event that it does not have the required audience for the screening.

ARTICLE 13
In case of conflict, the Festival Management retains its sovereignty (reserves the right to resolve). Any problem not contemplated in these bases will be resolved by the festival management.

ARTICLE 14
