The XVI Film Festival: Childhood and Adolescence -2025, is a festival with spaces for circulation and audiovisual training for children, adolescents and young people, with exhibitions, recreational activities, workshops, panels and discussions, whose fundamental objective is to promote Bogotá, as a pioneering city in Latin America in terms of a visible, protagonist and full of rights childhood and adolescence through audiovisual construction. Participation is free of charge for the exhibition and circulation of audiovisual content. The Contest will be held from September 2 to 6, 2025. Children and adolescents will have access to an audiovisual program made up of national and international animated and fiction short films, television series and the category of the "FESTICINE AWARD" that is awarded to audiovisuals made by children in Colombia. They will be accompanied by recreational activities to reflect on the thematic axis: "CITIZEN CULTURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT".

XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE - 2025

The CORPORACIÓN FILM FESTIVAL AND CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE, invites director@s, realizador@s and productor@s to participate with their audiovisual works, within the framework of the XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE - 2025, which will be held from September 2 to 6 in Bogotá – Colombia. Modality: Face-to-face and virtual.

The purpose of the call is to bring together quality film production, both national and international, aimed at children and adolescents, in the following categories:

CATEGORY: NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

1.1.- PROFESSIONAL COMPETITION
National and International Filmmakers

A. Best Short Film: Fiction
B. Best Animated Short Film
C. Television series.

1.2.- AMATEUR IN COMPETITION
National and International Filmmakers

A. Best Short Film: Fiction
B. Best Animated Short Film
C. Television series

The invitation to these two categories is open to all director@s, realizador@s and productor@s, who may be natural, legal or collective persons.

CATEGORY: FESTICINE AWARD

This award is aimed at CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS, aged 6 to 12 and 13 to 17 years old who have an audiovisual work made by them in Colombia. In the following categories:

A. Best Short Film: Fiction
B. Best Animated Short Film

NOTE: Audiovisual works produced by children or adolescents, who are selected to be presented in the contest, must send the Organization a letter of authorization from their parents or legal guardians to participate in the XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE – 2025

NOTE: For these categories their duration is from 3 to 30 minutes (including credits).

THE CHOSEN JURY WILL EVALUATE THE EIGHT CATEGORIES.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
All audiovisual works made from JANUARY 2023 TO MAY 2025 may participate in the competition

The author, by registering for the - XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE - 2025, cedes free of charge the exhibition rights, within the framework of the event, of the work without commercial purposes.

PROPOSED TOPIC FOR THIS CALL
THEMATIC AXIS FOR THE 2025 VERSION, IN ANY OF THE CATEGORIES: "CITIZEN CULTURE AND ENVIRONMENT".

Short films that deviate from the theme established for this version will NOT be submitted to selection.

FAILURE to submit any of these requirements voids the application. The submission of the work implies the acceptance of all the rules of the contest.

REQUIREMENTS TO SUBMIT YOUR SHORT FILM

 Technical sheet, synopsis and two posters of the film in jpg at 300 dpi.
 The audiovisual work must be sent with the following specifications: Full HD resolution (1920x1080). Container. MOV or MP4 in both cases with H.264 CODEC.

REMARKS
 The cost of sending the audiovisual material in any of its formats to the – XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE - 2025, will be borne by the participant.
 NOTE: Audiovisual works that are registered in the - XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE - 2025, will only be received in Spanish or subtitled to it.
 Material in similar formats will NOT be received.

CLASSIFICATION AND EVALUATION PROCESS:
 The XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE - 2025, reserves the number of works that go into competition.
 The curatorial team, appointed by the Festival, will nominate the selected works that will go to the official competition.
 A jury composed of recognized national and international experts in the audiovisual, arts and culture, will deliberate on the works in competition.
 The jury's decision is final.
 The short films not selected will go to the archive of the CORPORACIÓN FESTIVAL DE CINE E INFANCIA Y ADOLESCENCIA.
 The screening will be held in suitable rooms and with all the own equipment.
 The selected short films will go on to the official competition. And they must fill out a LETTER OF EXHIBITION RIGHTS, to be presented in the programming of the XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE – 2025.
 The final result of the jury in the different categories will be published on the official website of the XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE - 2025. (www.fcicbogota.com)
 A prize will be awarded for each category in competition.
 In the event that the works presented in any category do not meet the technical, aesthetic or treatment requirements required by the XVI FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE - 2025 for its competition, the jury is free to declare this category void.
