The 30th Lima PUCP International Film Festival is organized by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru through its Cultural Center. It features the participation of public and private institutions from Peru and abroad and will take place from August 6 to August 15, 2026.

The Lima PUCP International Film Festival has established itself as a significant and influential event that brings together the national and international film community over its 29 previous editions.

Best Director – Consists of a Spondylus Trophy for the film's director.

PUCP Community Award:
Best Peruvian Film among the Peruvian Competition, Latin American Fiction Competition, and Latin American Documentary Competition sections – Consists of a Spondylus Trophy and USD 2,000.00 for the film's director.

LGBTQ+ Award:
Award for Best LGBTQ+ Themed Film in the Latin American Fiction Competition, Latin American Documentary Competition, and Peruvian Competition sections - Consists of a Spondylus Trophy

OTHER AWARDS
The Lima PUCP International Film Festival offers partner institutions the opportunity to award other prizes in one or more sections. The final list of awards for which the films will compete will be announced at the press conference and on the Festival's official website

COMPETITIVE SECTIONS

PERUVIAN COMPETITION. Films of all genres, with a minimum duration of 45 minutes, will be selected by the Festival's Selection Committee. Films produced or co-produced by a Peruvian company, completed in 2025 or 2026, and not previously screened in Peru will be accepted.

LATIN AMERICAN FICTION COMPETITION. Feature films with a minimum duration of 60 minutes by Latin American filmmakers, selected by the Festival's Selection Committee. Films completed in 2025 or 2026 that have not previously screened in Peru will be accepted.

LATIN AMERICAN DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION. Films with a minimum duration of 45 minutes by Latin American filmmakers on any theme, or by filmmakers from other countries working on Latin American themes, will be selected by the Festival's Selection Committee. Films completed in 2025 or 2026 that have not been screened in Peru will be accepted.

Fiction and documentary films selected for the Festival must accept the following exhibition conditions:

The production and shipping costs for the DCP, KDM, and subtitles will be paid by those responsible for the films.

The Lima PUCP International Film Festival promotes the participation of filmmakers in the event.

Those interested in participating in the competitive sections of the Lima PUCP International Film Festival can register their works through any of the following options:

Extended registration: from March 1 to 31, only through the form, available in our website (https://festivaldelima.com/2025/convocatoria-festival-2026/), duly signed and including the film's viewing link with the corresponding password (which does not expire). IMPORTANT:
If the film's original language is not Spanish, the viewing link must include Spanish subtitles for it to be evaluated by our Selection Committee.
Please indicate whether it is a final cut or a work in progress of the film.
Submission will be considered a sworn statement.

COMMITMENT FOR SELECTED FILMS
Representatives of the selected films agree to read and comply with the provisions of this call for entries, the Festival rules, and the participation agreement.

Unless there is a formal communication requesting otherwise, the individuals who sign the registration form and the participation agreement will assume official representation of the film before the Festival and will be the sole representatives recognized by the Festival for negotiating all aspects related to the film's participation, as well as the only parties responsible to other companies or individuals involved in the film's production.

Those involved in the production and direction of the films agree to keep their selection confidential until the press conference announced by the organizers of the 30th Lima PUCP International Film Festival, which will take place during the third week of July 2026. The Festival will announce the date and time of the press conference in due course.

Participation in the festival implies authorization for the use of images, trailers, stills, posters, and other materials from the selected films in all publications, print materials, social media, official channels, promotional videos, and advertisements of the festival. This authorization is granted without territorial or time restrictions. Participants declare and guarantee that they possess all the necessary licenses to grant this authorization to the Festival. Participants agree to release the Lima PUCP International Film Festival from any liability for any potential claims regarding intellectual property and copyright that may arise from any of the participating films by third parties. The Festival's communications department will contact the respective production and/or distribution companies of the selected films to supervise and coordinate their diffusion. For the purposes of promotional materials, please note that the Festival team will be responsible for editing the submitted material. If the material submitted by the representatives is incomplete, the Festival team reserves the right to generate the missing content at its discretion.

The Lima PUCP International Film Festival reserves the right to remove any film from the Festival that fails to meet the deadlines for submitting the requested materials (DCP, subtitles, promotional materials, etc.) or if the materials are technically inadequate or defective, or if the filmmakers, their representatives, or directors fail to comply with the commitments made in this document and subsequent agreements. Similarly, the Lima PUCP International Film Festival reserves the right to disqualify any film or participant if it deems there to be a conflict of interest, a breach of the event's protocols, a violation of rights or ethical codes, and/or any legal infraction that damages the reputation of the Festival or its sponsors.

The decisions of the Selection Committee and the Lima PUCP International Film Festival organization are final and cannot be appealed. The festival's programming team reserves the right to invite submitted films to participate in sections other than those for which they initially applied.

PARTICIPATION OF SELECTED FILMS
If your film is selected, you must submit promotional materials by Friday, June 12, 2026. (Information requirements document: https://url-shortener.me/8M69). Exhibition materials for selected films must be submitted by Friday, June 19, 2026. You must provide the sender's information and obtain authorization from the production company to provide a copy of the film to the 30th Lima PUCP International Film Festival, Special Edition.

Once the film's selection to the Festival is accepted, the film's representatives must sign an agreement outlining the terms and conditions of participation. This agreement constitutes a sworn statement.

The production and distribution companies of films selected for Competition, as well as those that receive awards, agree to include the respective graphics and awards of the 30th Lima PUCP International Film Festival in all their promotional materials.

Films in competition will have a distribution and press plan specially designed by the Festival's communications team. Therefore, if a film has its own press team, it will be necessary to coordinate with the Festival's press team.In order to safeguard the neutrality of the event, the Festival does not participate in any independent activity held by the films in competition.

The Lima PUCP International Film Festival will program the selected films in the sections, theaters, and times it considers, and may make any changes if necessary. Once the selection has been communicated to the representatives of each film and confirmed by them, they cannot remove the film or exhibit it in any other venue in Peru before its participation at the Festival, unless there is an authorization signed by the Festival Management.

The selection committee and the Festival organization reserve the right to create other sections within the framework of the festival, as well as to make modifications to this call for entries and guidelines.

Any other point not specified in these rules, or any doubt that may arise in their interpretation, will be resolved by the Festival organization.

PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
All participants and organizers of the Festival commit to complying with the obligations regarding the processing of personal data, insofar as they are applicable, arising from Law No. 29733, the Personal Data Protection Law, and its regulations, with respect to the personal data to which they may have access within the framework of this Festival. Personal data must be used only for the purposes for which it was received and just to fulfill the obligations assumed, and not for any other purpose. Confidentiality must be maintained regarding this data. Therefore, it may not be transferred to third parties.

Regarding any personal data that may be included in the submitted audiovisual works (including images, voice, name, or other identifying information of individuals), please note that the data controller is the producer and/or distributor of the work or their legal representative, who declares and guarantees having obtained the necessary consents, authorizations, and rights, including image rights, according with current data protection regulations and other applicable legislation.

The Lima PUCP Film Festival acts only as an exhibitor and cultural promoter of the audiovisual works, without intervening in the determination of the purposes or means of processing the personal data contained therein, and assumes no responsibility for any processing carried out prior to their exhibition at the festival.

The producers and/or distributors of the films agree to indemnify the festival against any claim, penalty, or liability that may arise from non-compliance with data protection or image rights regulations in relation to the submitted work.

CONFIDENTIALITY
The information, documentation, audiovisual materials, personal data, and any other content provided by participants in connection with their registration and participation in the Festival will be treated as confidential and will be processed in accordance with current data protection regulations.

The Lima PUCP International Film Festival undertakes not to disclose, transfer, or communicate this information to third parties without the express consent of the data subject, except in those cases where it is strictly necessary for the proper organization, management, diffusion, and promotion of the Festival.
The submitted works will not be exhibited, reproduced, or used outside the framework of the Festival without the express authorization of their owners, except for jury evaluation, Festival activities, and related promotional activities, always respecting copyright and the integrity of the work.

This confidentiality obligation will remain in effect even after the Festival has concluded.

The Lima PUCP International Film Festival is committed to ensuring a safe, tolerant, and discrimination-free space for all members of the team, attendees, collaborators, and participants, both as audience members and guests. In line with the University's institutional principles, we reject all forms of gender violence and discriminatory acts that may occur during the Festival's activities. Any behavior that undermines these values ​​goes against the principles the Festival upholds. Therefore, we invite all members of your organization, participants, and guests to commit to maintaining a safe and respectful environment in all activities.
