Roca Film Festival is a non-profit cultural project held annually in the parish of Roca, Guitiriz, Lugo, Spain. Organized by Xermolos Cultural Association, this small-format musical film festival reaches its XII edition in 2025.

The festival centers on musical-themed productions, providing a platform for filmmakers who explore the relationship between cinema and music.

In addition to short film screenings, the festival offers a wide range of activities, including:

Short Film Competition:
The festival features a musical-themed short film competition, divided into two categories:
- Galician short films.
- Non-Galician/international short films.
The winners of each category receive a cash prize of €100 and an original trophy designed by local artisan Marcos Ladra.
Roca Film Festival contributes to the diffusion of musical cinema and the promotion of culture in the region of Lugo. Furthermore, it promotes cultural exchange between Galician and international filmmakers.
The parish of Roca, in Guitiriz, offers a rural and natural environment that adds a special charm to the festival.
Cash Prizes: 100€
The pieces that pass the initial selection process will compete for the Audience Award of “X12th Festival de Cine de Roca”, on September 18-20, 2025, which means 100 euros in cash for each category along with an exclusive trophy of the festival crafted by a local artist- one for each category.
1) Anyone older than 18 can participate. Two categories are established, one for Galician filmmakers and one for any other nationality.
2) The short films joining the festival can belong to any genre but the subject matter must be musical.
3) The pieces joining the festival must be dated after January 1, 2021.
4) Each author is allowed to present one single piece.
5) The short films will be presented in Galician or Spanish language.
6) Pieces presented in any other language must contain Spanish or Galician subtitles.
7) length of the pieces: they must be 3 minutes minimum and 30 minutes maximum, including the credits.
8) The short films can be filmed in any format but a copy must be presented in a DVD, pen drive, email or on a digital platform.
9) The pieces presented must be accompanied by the entry form correctly filled (https://cinemusicaroca.wixsite.com/cinederoca/investment) together with the following documents:
- Identity card or passport copy.
- A short synopsis, a technical and artistic file card, two pictures from the film and a poster - if avaliable.

The deadline for submission is August 11th, 2025 at 23:59 p.m.
11) The pieces sent to the contest will be pre-selected by the festival's committee to decide whether they are suitable to run for the audience award. The material will be not returned, however, if it does not win the award, it can be collected in person in a 90- day-period after the end of the festival.
12) The pieces selected in former editions of this festival will be not allowed to participate.
13) The management of the festival reserves the right to obtain copies of the short films selected for promotion, advertising and non-profit exhibitions purposes.
14) The participants will be responsible for no third part rights claim involved in the pieces presented, as well as for any possible copyright claim.
15) A copy of the winning piece will remain as property of the video library created by the festival and it can be used or shown in further editions, in any media, with no financial gain purposes.
16) The pieces that pass the initial selection process will compete for the Audience Award of “XII Festival de Cine de Roca”, on September 18-20, 2025, which means 100 euros in cash for each category along with an exclusive trophy of the festival crafted by a local artist- one for each category.
17) The winning author will collect the prize in person or will delegate another member of the team; if this is not possible, a bank transfer payment will be made for the amount of the prize.
18) Participating in the “Festival de Cine de Música en Roca” means the acceptance of the present rules and of any decisions taken by the management of the festival in any circumstances not recorded here.
19) The selected pieces will be published on the festival's website or social networks before the festival.
