The Maipú International Film Festival - FICMAI, shall be held from October 2 to 8, 2023, in the city of Maipú, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
FICMAI aims to disseminate high-quality and top-notch technical content, accessible to all kinds of audiences, with a diverse and entertaining programme that allows cultural enrichment, encounter, reflection, and amusement. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
01. DATE AND PLACE
The Maipú International Film Festival - FICMAI, shall be held from October 2 to 8, 2023, in the city of Maipú, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
02. OBJECTIVES
FICMAI aims to disseminate high-quality and top-notch technical content, accessible to all kinds of audiences, with a diverse and entertaining programme that allows cultural enrichment, encounter, reflection, and amusement. An annual meeting place for the city and a space for the exhibition of local productions.
03. SECTIONS
FICMAI will have different sections, and in all cases, the selection of the works shall be in charge of the organization.
• Films from Maipú Competition. Open to films from Maipú of any genre (fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, musical) unlimited duration. Spanish subtitling is mandatory for films in languages other than Spanish for its screening at the festival.
• International Feature Film Competition. Open to Argentine and foreign works of any genre (fiction, documentary, animation, experimental) more than 60 minutes long. Spanish subtitling is mandatory for films in languages other than Spanish for its screening at the festival.
• International Short Film Competition. Open to Argentine and foreign works of any genre (fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, musical) with a maximum length of 20 minutes (including titles). Spanish subtitling is mandatory for short films in languages other than Spanish for its screening at the festival.
• International Children’s Film Exhibition. Open to Argentine and foreign works of any genre (fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, musical), unlimited duration, whose content is aimed at children and young people, fostering the integral development of children.
• Special Screenings. Out of competition films, both national and international.
• Special Workshops and Activities for training and education, to be held in parallel to film screenings. All activities shall be free and unrestricted.
Priority shall be given to works dealing with subjects such as diversity, inclusion, and interculturality.
04. ADMISSION OF WORKS
The call is open to short and feature films, of any nationality, completed between 2022 and 2023. Advertising, institutional and journalistic reports, nor series or documentaries about nature or environment with a television approach shall not be accepted.
In the case of short films, they must be up to 20 minutes in length (including titles), and feature films must be longer than 60 minutes. There are no restrictions on nationality, original language or subject matter.
If the film is not spoken in Spanish, a Spanish or english subtitled copy must be submitted for pre-selection. In the event of being selected, a copy of the screening must be presented in Spanish, either spoken or subtitled.
In the case of the films from Maipú, there is no limit of duration, nor restrictions of any kind in terms of treatment or subject matter.
All works must be unpublished in the City of Maipú, Province of Buenos Aires.
05. SUBMISSION OF WORKS
Registration for FICMAI - Maipú International Film Festival must be undertaken by the producers or filmmakers who own the rights to the film they present and is completely free for Argentine works.
For registration, interested parties must complete the information required in the online registration form and send a private screening link.
The deadline for reception of works shall be July 10th (early deadline), August 10th (regular deadline) and August 30th (late deadline).

The films from Maipú can be registered through the website of the festival www.ficmai.com or delivering a DVD of the film at the Secretariate of Culture of Maipú.
06. COPYRIGHT
The organization of the FICMAI - Maipú International Film Festival assumes that the production companies, producers or directors who register hold the exhibition rights of the works they present. In any case, the organization is exempt from any liability that may arise from the infringement of this regulations.
07. SELECTION
The result of the selection will be communicated to those registered before September 25, 2023. Once this date has passed without the result of the selection having been expressly communicated to any of the interested parties, it shall be understood that their work has not been selected and therefore will not be part of the programme.
The complete programme of the FICMAI - Maipú International Film Festival shall also be available on the website www.ficmai.com .
Once the film has been selected, it cannot be removed from the programme.
If your work is selected, the participant must provide the event organizers with a copy of the film in spoken or subtitled Spanish, a minimum of three images of the film in high quality digital format, synopsis and technical data sheet of the work, which shall be used for reproduction in the catalog, website, and social networks. It must also provide the information material that shall be distributed to the media during the Festival.
The participant whose work is selected authorizes the organization of the event to disseminate the name, images, and information of the film, as well as its technical and artistic crew, and allows the use of a maximum of three minutes of its film to distribute to audiovisual media as an advertisement spot, as part of the programme of the FICMAI - Maipú International Film Festival.
08. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS
Registration implies full acceptance of these terms by all participants. The organizers of the FICMAI - Maipú International Film Festival may issue additional rules and regulations as they deem appropriate for its better implementation. The interpretation of these terms, conditions, and provisions shall be the sole responsibility of the organizers.
