22nd LesBiGayTrans International Film Festival of Paraguay

Aireana, a lesbian rights group and organizer of Paraguay's 22nd International LesBiGayTrans Film Festival, invites people interested in film and audiovisual media from around the world to participate in this year's edition of the festival.

JURY and AWARDS
The jury will be composed of individuals with recognized experience in the fields of filmmaking, cultural management, and LGBTIQ+ rights activism.
The jury's decisions will be final and unappealable.

6. Categories and awards
NATIONAL CATEGORY
All selected Paraguayan productions will receive recognition for their participation and will compete for:
Audience Award
“Concha de Oro” Award, accompanied by a cash prize
LesBiGayTrans in 1 Minute Award, for works in Reels or TikTok format

INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY
International productions will compete for the
Audience Award for:
Best Short Film
Best Feature Film
Best Documentary
Festival Award
Best Work with a Gender Focus, for the work that stands out most for its contribution to diversity and human rights.

7. Notification and selection
Selected works will be notified by email or via the registration platform.
The official selection will be announced on July 1, 2026, on the festival's website and social media.
Those responsible should not publicly announce their selection before that date.
The festival will only notify the selected works.
If no response is received after the material has been sent, the festival may screen the work, understanding its submission as an express desire to participate.
The contact person indicated in the registration form will be notified of the winning works.

8. Promotion and rights of use
The festival may use excerpts from the selected works, photographs, and promotional material from the filmmakers for the purposes of cultural dissemination and promotion of the festival, without commercial purposes.

Participation implies full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Registration deadline: The call for entries will be open until May 15, 2026.

2. Theme
Feature films and short films in the genres of fiction, documentary, or animation whose content addresses LGBTIQ+ themes—lesbian, gay, bisexual, transvestite, trans, transgender, transsexual, and intersex—are eligible to participate.

3. Formats and technical requirements
Films must be submitted exclusively in digital format.
Accepted formats: MP4 (H.264) or MOV.
Minimum resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD).

Works in any language are accepted, provided they have Spanish subtitles, even when the original language of the work is Spanish. This measure reflects the festival's commitment to cultural accessibility, allowing people with hearing difficulties or who require visual support to fully enjoy the screenings.

The festival is not responsible for the translation or subtitling of the works submitted.

4. Registration
Registration will be done online through the platform.
In case of technical difficulties, interested parties may request registration by writing to: aireanafestival@gmail.com , where they will be provided with the Ficha / Registration Form.
Registration of a work implies full and irrevocable acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
