Guaíba, birthplace of the Farroupilha Revolution, has been consolidating itself as the birthplace of new filmmakers. For 20 years, it has held the National Student Film Festival, which opens space for productions from all over Brazil and abroad and aims to encourage audiovisual production as a pedagogical activity linked to the school curriculum. This Festival is a pioneer in Brazil in encouraging the use of audiovisual as a pedagogical practice, integrating students and teachers in film production.
The winners of the Festival (except for the international exhibition) will receive the Gomezito Trophy, alluding to the hero Farroupilha Gomes Jardim and to the tree that symbolizes the city of Guaíba, the Cipreste. A certificate will be sent at the international show.
The 22nd Guaíba Student Film Festival/National and International Short and Feature Film Exhibition (Cinestudantil Guaíba 2024) takes place in 2002, seeking the protagonism of children and young people in cinema and the education of the gaze.

2. PARTICIPANTS
1- Films made by Early Childhood Education and Early Years students can participate in the Festival; Final Years and by high school or technical school students.
2- The Festival also opens space for short and long films made by producers, universities or independently, professionals, as long as they contribute to the EDUCATIONAL PROPOSAL. The latter will be allocated to the Alternative/Brazil Exhibition and the International Exhibition, also competitive.
3. REGISTRATION
Registration takes place from March 27th, Gaucho Cinema Day and continues until August 18th, 2024
4. STUDENT SHOW:
4..1. CHILDHOOD EDUCATION/EARLY YEARS: Short Highlights are free in genre and format and cannot exceed 10 minutes, including credits.
4..2. FINAL YEARS: Highlight Student Show Final Years:
Fiction; up to 20min
Educational Advertising up to 1 min and 30sec
Documentary up to 20min
4.3. HIGH SCHOOL/TECHNICAL EDUCATION:
Highlight High School or Technical School Student Exhibition:
Fiction up to 20 minutes with credits
Educational Advertising, up to 1 minute and 30 seconds with credits
Documentary up to 20 minutes with credits.
4.4. SPECIAL CATEGORY TOWARDS THE CENTENARY. Advertisements (up to 1 minute and 30 seconds) and documentaries (up to 10 minutes) valuing the city of Guaíba, its historical and tourist potential, which turns 100 years old in 1926.
5. NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ALTERNATIVE SHOW
5.1. The national and international Alternative Exhibition is open to films in the fiction, documentary, animation and other categories, which can be short or long.
5.2. Foreign films may be entered into the festival as long as they are subtitled or dubbed in Portuguese or do not require translation as they do not have dialogues that require translation.
6. SELECTION
The selection of films shown in the official exhibitions will be carried out by the organizing committee, in accordance with the Festival's objective (cinema and education).
7. SELECTION CRITERIA
7.1.Creativity;Script;.Photography; .Acting; Educational message; Technical quality; Contribution to the Festival proposal; Complete presentation of documentation.
8. DISCLOSURE OF THE SELECTED
8.1. The selected films will be officially published on the fan page facebook.com/cinestudantil
8.2.The date for announcing those selected will be defined later.
9. JURY
The organizing committee, together with the jury, may suspend some of the awards specified above, if it believes that no work meets the necessary criteria, as well as add new awards if it deems necessary.
10. AWARD
The winners at the Festival (with the exception of the international exhibition) will receive the Gomezito Trophy, commemorating the hero Farroupilha Gomes Jardim and the tree symbol of the city of Guaíba, the Cypress. A certificate will be sent at the international exhibition.
10.1. The festival does not offer cash prizes.
10.2. The result will be announced on a date to be defined.
11. COPYRIGHT
11.1. The festival may use films, photos, technical information and graphic material from films to promote its activities through clips, printed material, TV and display the classifieds on the festival's internet channel/platform.
11.2. Any irregularities related to copyright in films entered in the festival are the sole responsibility of their producers.
12. GENERAL PROVISIONS
12.1. When registering and sending the films, the person responsible for registration will be aware of and in full agreement with these regulations.
12.2. Cases omitted from this regulation are the responsibility of the organizing committee.
