FICAR Entrimo 2025 Short Film Festival
"Youth and the Rural Environment"

The 2025 Short Film Festival aims to promote audiovisual creation and give visibility to the stories, challenges, and realities of youth in rural areas.

This edition seeks to highlight the creativity of both emerging and established filmmakers who portray in their works the life, struggles, dreams, and culture of new generations in rural communities.

Se otorgarán reconocimientos en distintas categorías, incluyendo:

• Premio al Mejor Cortometraje por el Jurado

• Premio al Mejor Cortometraje No Profesional por el Jurado

• Premio del Público

Los ganadores recibirán trofeos, diplomas y posibles incentivos en efectivo o en
especie (dependiendo de los patrocinadores del festival).

1. OBJECTIVE

The 2025 Short Film Festival aims to promote audiovisual creation and give visibility to the stories, challenges, and realities of youth in rural areas. This edition seeks to highlight the creativity of both emerging and established filmmakers who portray in their works the life, struggles, dreams, and culture of new generations in rural communities.

2. PARTICIPANTS

Anyone interested may participate in the 3rd edition of the Ficar Entrimo 2025 International Short Film and Art Festival, including filmmakers, students, professionals, or cinema enthusiasts, regardless of age or nationality.

3. CATEGORIES AND THEMES

Short films may be submitted in the following categories:

Fiction: Works with original narratives about youth in rural areas.

Animation: Animated productions addressing the festival’s theme.

The short films must focus on rural life and youth, with special consideration given to depictions of life in rural Galicia over the past decades, as well as recently created works.

4. SHORT FILM REQUIREMENTS

Submitted short films must be relevant to the festival’s theme and may be silent or include sound.

Each participant may submit up to two short films, accompanied by their respective titles and, optionally, a brief explanatory text.
The maximum duration is 30 minutes, including credits.

Films must be in Galician or Spanish, or subtitled in one of these languages if the original language is different.

Only films produced from January 1, 2015, onward will be accepted.

Works must align with the theme "Youth and Rural Environment."

Films can be shot in any format or technique.

5. SUBMISSION PROCESS

Submissions will be made via the Festhome platform. Participants must submit:

A viewing or download link to the short film (Vimeo, private YouTube, or Drive).
A technical sheet of the film.
A brief synopsis (max. 200 words).
The director’s and production team’s information.

A signed screening authorization.

6. IMPORTANT DATES

Submission opening: 03/15/2025

Submission deadline: 06/15/2025

Official selection announcement: 06/30/2025

Screenings & Awards Ceremony: 07/18 - 07/20/2025

7. SELECTION & JURY

A specialized committee will evaluate the short films based on creativity, technical quality, narrative, and relevance to the festival’s theme.

The selected films will become part of the festival’s Official Selection and will be screened during the event.

8. AWARDS

Recognitions will be granted in various categories, including:

Best Short Film Award (Jury Selection)

Best Non-Professional Short Film Award (Jury Selection)

Audience Award

Winners will receive trophies, diplomas, and potential cash or in-kind incentives (depending on the festival’s sponsors).

9. RIGHTS & AUTHORIZATIONS
Participants guarantee that they hold the screening rights for their short films and grant the festival authorization to screen them as part of the event.

The festival organizers may use excerpts for promotional purposes.

10. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By submitting a film, participants fully accept these terms and conditions. Any unforeseen situation will be resolved by the festival’s organization.
