- INTRODUCTION -


The Fugitif Short Film Festival is an international festival of competitive short films. This event, thanks to a demanding selection, responds to a desire to offer a high quality artistic and cultural experience. Since 2021, the event has been held at the renowned Utopia cinema in the heart of Avignon.

The festival explores three captivating themes: The Night, LGBTQIA+ and student films. It showcases the full diversity of cinema, bringing together a wide range of genres: fiction, live action, animation, documentary, experimental, and many more.

Details of the event's sponsors will be announced shortly. A huge thank you to everyone who is supporting and taking part in the Fugitif experience!


- PUBLIC SCREENINGS -

The event takes place at the Utopia cinema in the centre of Avignon. It will provide a unique opportunity for filmmakers and film school students to meet, exchange ideas and participate in the cultural weaving of the audiovisual sector.

A jury of professional artists will be present at the screening to determine the winner of the Fugitif Award.

Selected films announcement – January 15th, 2027

-THEME -

- 2026 THEME #1: THE NIGHT -

1. The theme THE NIGHT can be approached literally and/or metaphorically. It can be a detail or a main element of the film.

2. Duration: 2 to 25 minutes.

3. All styles and genres are accepted: live-action, animation, fiction, documentary, comedy, horror, etc.

4. The date of creation is not restrictive.


- 2026 THEME #2: LGBTQIA+ -

1. The LGBTQIA+ theme is an opportunity to discover and highlight the great variety, abundance and exceptional creativity of LGBTQIA+ cinema.

2. Duration: 2 to 25 minutes.

3. All styles and genres are accepted: live-action, animation, fiction, documentary, comedy, horror, etc.

4. The date of creation is not restrictive.


- 2026 THEME #3 STUDENT FILMS -

1. The STUDENT FILMS theme highlights the diversity and creativity of cinema students and reveals the talents of the future.

2. Duration: 2 to 25 minutes.

3. All styles and genres accepted: live action, animation, drama, documentary, comedy, horror, etc.

4. The date of creation is not restrictive.


- REGISTRATION FEES -

Early-bird: 15€
Regular deadline fee: 20€
Late deadline: 25€

In the case of cancellation or disqualification for failure to comply with the imposed regulations, entry fees are non-refundable.

- RULES TERMS -

ALL KIND, ALL GENRE

duration: 2 to 25 minutes.

The production date is not restrictive.

Short films registered in previous editions are eligible to apply again this year.

In the event of selection, you must be able to supply your film in the following technical conditions:

A Digital Cinema Package + ProRes (or H264)
Resolution: PAL and NTSC (or SECAM) from 720x400px to HD 1920x1080px
Dialogues: you must provide subtitles in French and/or english.
