Gulu International Film Festival-GIFF is Northern Uganda’s first major film festival that brings different cultures under one stage through films.
The festival includes film screenings, open debate sessions, master classes, awards and workshops.
We will be presenting awards to films that will be submitted for competitions at this year’s Gulu International Film Festival. The GIFF Awards is an open door for all independent filmmakers worldwide.
This year, our jury will award the best independent films through private screenings. We will also provide honourable mentions for filmmakers and notable humanitarians who may not necessarily win but who should be acknowledged for their work. All the annual winners receive the prestigious GIFF Elephant awards in their respective categories. The awards categories will have three separate sections of Local, National and International films.
