The 16th International queer film festival “Merlinka” will be taking place from 12-16 December 2024 in Yugoslav Cinematheque in Belgrade

The main competition program of the festival will present only short queer films from all over the world produced in 2022 and 2024 (with possible exceptions). The festival’s main program will be accompanied by three side programs: Queer documentaries, Queer Featured films and Retrospective. The main focus of this year’s festival will be the force that motivates LGBT people to continuously work on improving lives of other LGBT people through politics, activism, art, media…, but this is not mandatory for official selection.

We invite film authors, as well as film arts students, to submit their films. The content of films submitted should be compatible with the festival’s framework (must be LGBTIQ-themed). Submission deadline is September 1, 2023.

Merlinka is non-profit festival.

Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
