The entries must meet every requirement as below.

○ Pre-condition: the first or second feature-length film of the director(s)

○ Running Time(including credits): longer than 40-minute
length

○ Date of Completion: after January 2025

○ Premiere status: at least Asian premiere (For films made in Asian countries, the exception is granted if it hasn’t been screened in an Asian country other than the home country.)

Cash Prizes: 29,000$

A. Grand Prize: A cash award of 20 million KRW and a trophy will be given to one film screened in International Competition that contributes to widening the scope and the depth in the contemporary cinema, selected by International Competition jury members.

B. Best Picture Prize: A cash award of 10 million KRW and a trophy will be given to one film screened in International Competition.

C. Special Jury Prize: A cash award of 10 million KRW and a trophy will be given to one film screened in International Competition.

D. NETPAC Award: A trophy and a certificate will be given to one film, which is made in an Asian country by an Asian filmmaker(s), involved in non-competitive sections. Selected by The Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC).

* The awards above are described based on the 26th edition of the JEONJU IFF 2025.

1. Organizations
The JEONJU International Film Festival is presented by the JEONJU International Film Festival Organizing Committee and hosted by the JEONJU International Film Festival Executive Committee.

2. Goals
The JEONJU International Film Festival (hereinafter called “JEONJU IFF”) promotes the spirit of independence and experimentalism. We also enthusiastically seek new aesthetic and technological possibilities for contemporary cinema. Therefore, the JEONJU IFF actively introduces audiences to the forward-looking directors and progressive trends of contemporary cinema today. The JEONJU IFF wants to bring out a rich film culture and further contribute to the growth of Korean cinema.

3. Festival Dates
The 27th JEONJU IFF will be held in Jeonju, South Korea for ten days from Wednseday, April 29 to Friday, May 8, 2026.
* JEONJU IFF enables to change the festival dates under inevitable circumstances.

4. Festival Formats
The 27th JEONJU IFF will proceed with on-site screenings.
* Festival format is subject to change under the inevitable circumstances.

5. Programs
The programs of JEONJU IFF have consisted of competitive and non-competitive sections and along with other distinguishing side-bar programs as below:

① Competitions
- International Competition: A first or second feature-length film of an emerging filmmaker(s)
- Korean Competition: A first or second feature-length film of an emerging filmmaker(s) that reveals the present Korean society
- Korean Competition for Shorts: A section dedicated to showing short films with aesthetic challenges

② Non-competitions
- JEONJU Cinema Project (JCP): The feature-length films financed and produced by JEONJU IFF
- Frontline: A collection of unique and imaginative films with issues raising questions and innovative arguments
- World Cinema: An introduction to the most significant fiction films and documentaries of the year that represent contemporary trends
- Masters: A showcase of films of influential and celebrated directors
- Korean Cinema: A section that shows the trend of Korean films through new films by Korean directors or films that achieve unique perfection
- Expanded Cinema: The trend of experimental films with innovative and original cinema language
- Cinema Fest: A collection of films offering both popular and artistic aspects in which various generations can watch
- Midnight Cinema: A collection of films that show individual styles such as genre elements, radical imagination, clear subject consciousness and free-spirited expression
- Possible Cinema: A section introducing films by creators or creative groups working on a small budget in term of production and realization methods, employing original cinematic languages that are mostly far from traditional narrative formats
- Cinephile JEONJU: A section that introduces restored films and films that contain the history of movies that trigger the thought of movie itself
- Special Focus (Special program or Retrospective): A special program focused on the specific artist, the country, or the subject newly projected on a yearly basis
- J Special: Programmer of the Year: A section designed by the guest programmer(s) with their own cinematic perspectives
* The outline of programs above is based on the last edition in 2024, and it can be added or modified depending on the festival program.

6. Eligibility
(1) Based on the running time including the credits, it is classified as a short film with less than 40 minutes and a feature-length film with 40 minutes or more.
(2) All competitive and non-competitive sections may receive all genres of feature-length and short films.
(3) Entries for International Competition must be the first or second feature-length film of the director(s).
* All the co-directors must meet this condition and no exception is allowed.
(4) International Competition entries must be screened in the mentioned period of JEONJU IFF and must have one of the following premiere conditions: Asian Premiere, International Premiere, or World Premiere. And the entries must be made after January 2025.
* All entries should guarantee at least Asian Premiere for International Competition. In case that the submitted work is from an Asian country, the exception is granted if it hasn’t been screened in an Asian country other than the home country.
** The JEONJU IFF officially follows the UN criteria for a continent division.
(5) If the submitted work has been released on SVOD, VOD, DVD, or Blu-ray, it will not be eligible for any of the JEONJU IFF official sections.
* A graduation screening or a private screening will be an exception.
(6) A submission must be completed no later than January 19th, 2026 for selection. The screener must be sent as a private link (Vimeo or other File Hosting Services) with a password or a file in the format allowed by the submission website. It should not be disclosed to the public.
A. English subtitles must be embedded on the screener if the original language of the film is non-English.
B. After submission, the submitter should not change the link or replace the screener file itself without notifying the festival.
C. Once the entry is considered for selection, the screener submitted at the time of entry must be the same as the final version that will be screened at the JEONJU IFF. If the final version is different from the screener, the JEONJU IFF selection committee reserves the right to determine the difference between the screener and the final screen version and to cancel the selection.
D. Films that were submitted before 2025 cannot be submitted again. However, in the case of re-shooting or re-editing previously submitted work, the similarity to the previous work is judged by the film festival

7. Processing Fee
Films will only be considered for selection after the processing fee is received. It is therefore not possible to receive a refund even if your film is not selected or fails to meet the submission guidelines. The fee for submitting to International Competition is 30 USD per film.

8. Selection
The films for the JEONJU IFF 2026 will be selected by the festival programmers and the selection committee organized by the festival. Each selected film will be notified individually, and the final list will be announced on a bulletin board of the official website.

9. Cancellation of Selection
(1) When the submitted information is appeared not to be true, the submission can be refused.
(2) It can be refused when it is reckoned that it harms the objective of the festival for the following reasons: The destruction of public order or social customs, sexual violence or harassment, defamation, discriminatory/hate speech or violence, and so on.

10. Print Shipment and Return
(1) Eligible film formats and video systems are as follows:
- DCP (D-Cinema): Window Version, Linux Version
(2) When it comes to the physical shipment, prints must arrive at the festival's main office located in Jeonju before March 31, 2026. The address will be informed individually.
(3) Immediately after sending out a package, the print provider must email a copy of the Airway Bill to the festival, indicating the method, date of shipment, and flight number for the airfreight. In addition, a copy of the invoice must be emailed stating the name of the sender, title of the film, length of the film, number of reels, and film format. Also, whether the film is in black-and-white, or color should be indicated. The original copy of the invoice must be included in the print package.
(4) The festival will be responsible for the round-way shipping cost only when the shipment has been made through the official courier service designated by the festival. If the participant does not wish to use the designated courier service, the shipping cost will be decided under the approval of the JEONJU IFF executive committee.
(5) If the print is shipped to or from other festivals, the JEONJU IFF will follow the standard practice of cost-sharing. Regarding domestic prints, the festival will be responsible for the domestic shipping cost only.
(6) Prints will be returned to the address indicated in the entry application within 3 weeks after the festival ends. If the print needs to be returned to another address, the print provider must send a shipping instruction invoice no later than March 31, 2026. providing the desired return address and date.
(7) Other occasions about the print shipments shall follow the festival shipping instructions.

11. Submission of Documentation/Promotional Materials
(1) The festival must receive complete documentation materials for each film selected. The submitted documentation materials will be used in the JEONJU IFF catalog as well as for other promotional purposes such as festival magazine, official website, a festival calendar, and so on for non-commercial purposes. However, the print(screener) will be discarded after the festival ends.
(2) The festival is entitled to use the submitted trailer or clip for promotional purposes. In case there is no trailer or clip available, excerpts from the film of a maximum length of five minutes will be used for these purposes.
(3) The festival may use images of selected films for future festival events including the relevant year, for non-commercial and commercial purposes to promote the festival.
(4) The submitted documentation materials will not be returned.

12. Presentation at the Video Library
(1) During the festival period, the private screening at the Video Library, which is allowed for the festival badge holders only, would be permitted with the submitter’s prior consent to displaying the selected film.
(2) There will be an Online Screening Room for the international festival professionals or the reliable press admitted by the festival, depending on the rightsholders’ permission.

13. Responsibilities and Insurance
(1) If the screeners are leaked due to negligent management, the Executive Committee of the festival will be liable for any damage that happened to the copyright holders.
(2) For damage or loss incurred during the festival, the liability of the festival is limited to reimbursement for the production costs of a new print following the standard rates. If the damaged or lost print is subtitled, the festival will also assume liability for the subtitling cost.

14. General Regulations
(1) The above regulations take effect with the submission of a completed entry form signed by the director, producer, agent, or domestic distributor of the film.
(2) The executive committee of the festival reserves the right to decide upon matters not discussed in the above regulations.
