The Joy House Film Festival is a yearly short film festival with the main theme of JOY and it supports diversity. It's the only film festival in Australia which is supported by Actors Equity Australia's Diversity Committee.

It is screened in Sydney (Sept) Perth (Jan) and Melbourne (November).

It is open to submissions all year round

$3000 worth of prizes which includes ($2000 cash prizes Aus) other prizes include Hoyts tickets, show bags, DVD packs etc

Light entertainment short films. Short films must be made within 2 years. Must have a scene of JOY (happiness) in the short film. Open to drama, comedy, animation, music video, action etc

Entry Requirements:
Films must be under 10 minutes in length and must have a scene that shows the emotion of “joy.” Films must be submitted via www.festhome.com or on DVD with all entry form details filled out.
Filmmakers must have copyright over music used in the film.
All films must be submitted by 20/ 8/ 2015

Festival & Film Screening
The format for the festival screening is a world-wide HD cinema format which allows high quality images to be projected. Each selected finalist must be prepared to transfer their DVD to the required format for screening. We regret that we are unable to return preview DVDs. Stills photographs of production will also be required from successful entrants.

All applicants will be notified on the statues of their film.
Successful entrants will be notified and invited to the launch of the screening program.
All 10 finalists selected must give permission for their work to be compiled onto a DVD and used as a resource for the community, such as libraries, Harmony Day events and so on.
A SMALL fee will be paid to the 10 filmmakers selected after the DVD has been produced and purchased by the community.
