The Last Hope International Film Festival is an inclusive platform for both emerging and established filmmakers. Taking place in the dynamic coastal city of Da Nang, Vietnam, the festival is dedicated exclusively to short narrative (fiction) films from around the world.

Debut works, student films, and independent productions are welcome — provided they were completed on or after January 1, 2024. The festival accepts short fiction films only. Documentary, animated, and experimental films are not eligible.

English subtitles are required for all non-English-language films.

We celebrate creativity, diversity, and powerful storytelling in contemporary short cinema. Join us to showcase your vision and become part of an international celebration of film.

All selected winners will receive official laurel seals and digital diplomas. Our awards honor artistic achievement across multiple categories.

The jury may reassign a film to a different category if it better fits its style or form.

– Submissions are open from February 27, 2026 to June 7, 2026

– Notification date: June 21, 2026

– Accepted format: Short narrative (fiction) films only, with a maximum runtime of 25 minutes (including credits)

– Genres: All narrative genres are accepted (drama, thriller, comedy, horror, action, etc.)

– Languages: Films may be in any language; English subtitles are mandatory for non-English films

– Debut films, student films, and independent productions are welcome

– Films submitted in previous editions are allowed

– Multiple submissions of the same film are not permitted

By submitting your film to the Last Hope International Film Festival, you grant the festival a non-exclusive right to publicly screen the film as part of the festival program.

The jury reserves the right to determine the appropriate category for each selected film.
