Madero City International Film Festival (FICCMADERO) invites Mexican and international producers and filmmakers to submit their short and feature films to the 10th Edition of the Festival, which will take place from November 24 to 26, 2026.

The call for entries runs from February 12 to September 30, 2026, with a registration fee for short films and feature films.

On October 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM, the selected short films and feature films will be announced on our social media platforms.

The selected projects in competition will compete for the awards in the following categories:

FEATURE FILM CATEGORIES:
BEST NATIONAL FEATURE FILM
(For this category, national fiction feature films will compete).

SHORT FILM CATEGORIES:

BEST NATIONAL SHORT FILM
(For this category, national fiction short films will compete).

BEST TAMAULIPAS SHORT FILM
(For this category, only short films from Tamaulipas will compete).

BEST NATIONAL SHORT FILM SCREENPLAY
(For this category, national fiction short films will compete).

BEST DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM
(For this category, national documentary short films will compete).

BEST ANIMATED SHORT FILM
(For this category, national animated short films will compete).

BEST HORROR SHORT FILM
(For this category, national horror short films will compete).

BEST COMEDY SHORT FILM
(For this category, national comedy short films will compete).


BEST INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM
(For this category, international short films will compete).

BEST SOUND DESIGN

OFFICIAL SELECTION
The festival committee will select the short films that will be part of the official program for the seventh edition of FICCMA, which features various showcase sections.

WINDOWS OF FICTION
(Showcase of national and international short films with free themes).


WOMEN BEHIND THE CAMERA
(Showcase of national and international short films directed by women).


TALES WITH PAWS
(Showcase of national and international short films about animals)

RULES:

1.- All Spanish-language short films and Feature Films that are selected must include English subtitles.

2.- International short films that participate in any of the categories must have subtitles in Spanish, without exception.

3- The selected short films must have a maximum duration of 20 minutes with credits included. If you don't follow the rules, you will be disqualified.

4.- Filmmakers must send their short films through the FilmFreeway platform.

5.- Any short film detected that is available to the public on the internet will be disqualified.

6.- The person in charge of registration will be responsible for all copyrights that apply to the short film and feature film.

7.- Short films and Feature Films that have finished their production from 2024 to 2026 may participate.

8.- The call closes on September 30 of this year at 11:59 p.m. (Central Mexico time).






  Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
