12 documentary shorts will be selected that will be broadcast in Catalan or with subtitles. These will be finalists and will be part of the official film program of the MDF 2022 festival. Four of the finalist documentaries will be selected to be part of the Aula Doc educational project, aimed at schools. Aula Doc proposes a series of activities to work on cross-cutting issues in the documentary genre audiovisual and, specifically, in the short film in question. In addition, it should be emphasized that there will be a first prize for the best documentary short and up to a maximum of two works will be able to obtain an honorable mention from the jury.
The publication of the finalist works selected for the festival program will be made public on September 10, 2022. While the verdict of the Ullastre Award for Best Documentary Short will be made public during the central days of the festival. The jury will be made up of a team of filmmakers and documentaries, as well as the author of the short winner in the previous edition.
Participation requirements
Producers, directors and distributors from any country can participate, as long as they are the holders of all the rights to the works with which they compete, as well as the images and audios that make them up.
Each participant can submit a maximum of two films that have been made during or after 2020.
The duration must be a maximum of 35 minutes.
Movies can be shot in any language.

They will not be able to have contents that lack in the respect to any person, group, group or organization.
They cannot induce proselytism, nor a specific political, religious or hate speech.
Registration procedure
Festhome, filling out the digital platform participation form. If any data is missing, the participation of the work will not be valid.
Enviament de l'obra i subtítols en català o castellà en format .srt. For WeTransfer or any other non-expiring download service. Projection quality in .MP4 format and H264 compression at 8MB / s or higher.

Remuneration
Official selection of finalist films: € 50 per short film for copyright.
Selection for the educational project "Aula Doc": € 80 for a short film on copyright (cumulative to the selection as a finalist).
Best Documentary Short Prize: € 700 for copyright / exhibition (cannot be added to the selection as a finalist). The winner of the prize will be part of the jury of the 5th edition of the Menorca Doc Fest and will be invited to the 2023 festival.
The prize may be forfeited if the jury so decides.
Conditions
All royalties include taxes.
Fees will be charged after the festival and only by invoice.
The organization will send the billing details once the festival is over. All invoices must be submitted by November 1, 2022. Otherwise, the author will be deemed to have rejected this payment.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Submission to this call implies full acceptance of these rules and their terms and conditions. Besides:
The organization reserves the right to change the rules or aspects of the exhibition, which will be duly informed, if there are exceptional circumstances that require it.
The organization reserves the right to make a selection of works submitted on the basis of technical and creative quality criteria.
The people who present the works in this contest are responsible for the possible claims for rights of third parties of the works presented.
The use of visual and audio documentation is authorized for communication purposes and as an archive of Menorca Doc Fest and the organizing entity, Es Far Cultural.
