The Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art and the Indigenous Film + Video Exhibition report that from October 12 to December 30, 2021 the reception of audiovisual works will be open that will make up the official selection of the 16th Indigenous Film + Video Exhibition, which will take place in Chile and other countries during 2022 .

18th FILM SHOW + INDIGENOUS VIDEO, CHILE 2024

The 18th Indigenous Cinema + Video Show has as main objectives to promote the value of the original cultures and the respect towards them; promote access to the use of audiovisual media and contribute to the disclosure of the realities of the indigenous peoples of the Americas and the world.

Call and Bases
The call is open to indigenous and non-indigenous audiovisual filmmakers from around the world whose audiovisual themes are about the First World Peoples, with emphasis on the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas.

Priority will be given to audiovisuals that present the point of view or discourse of the communities in their production and that rescue the original languages.

The productions may be oriented for the general public or for children and their families and may revolve around issues related to cultural, religious, artistic, community, social, economic and / or political organization of indigenous peoples, without being the Thematic is an exclusive requirement for participation in this show, but that the value is focused on it being a very good cinematographic piece.

In the sample, short films or feature films and films of all genres (documentary, fiction, animation, experimental) may participate in the following 3 categories:

CATEGORIES

1.-Films that represent the cultures of the Indigenous Peoples of the world

2.-Films that represent or show one of the 9 indigenous peoples of the Chilean territory

3.- Cinema and Video made for Children and their families.

REQUIREMENTS

Application requirements for films with indigenous themes:

1.-Audiovisuals from the year 2019 to date

2.-That have not been exhibited in this sample in previous years,

3.-Have subtitles in Spanish if they are spoken in another language or native language
