Festival start: 23 October 2025
Festival end: 30 October 2025
FIC Multifest is an international film festival organized by Grupo Cortos Verdes Internacional, based in Guadalajara, one of the most important film production hubs in Latin America.
The festival was born with the mission of promoting and showcasing short films, feature films, documentaries, and new forms of storytelling, including those created with the support of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
FIC Multifest is a meeting point for innovative creators—a space that celebrates both the art and the technological evolution of contemporary cinema.
More than just a festival, Multifest has become a platform for visibility, education, and distribution of local, national, and international audiovisual works, expanding its impact through digital media, social networks, and alternative exhibition channels.
The festival positions itself as a meeting point for emerging creators, established filmmakers, allied festivals, and an audience eager for innovative content. A space where cinema is shared, evolves, and projects itself into the future.
AWARDS
The competition categories are as follows:
- Best International Short Film
- Best Mexican Short Film
- Best Jalisco Short Film
Special mentions will be awarded.
1. Participants will receive an Official Selection laurel.
2. Winners will receive a printed certificate on closing day. Those who cannot attend will receive a digital certificate, along with a Winner’s Laurel.
3. The funds collected will be used to reward the best short films, distributed as follows: 20% for each awarded category and the remaining 40% will be used by the festival to cover operational, administrative, and logistical expenses. In this way, Multifest remains committed to consistently supporting filmmakers.
4. Through Grupo Cortos Verdes Internacional, aiming for the works to circulate beyond festivals, it will offer participating, selected, and winning works the opportunity for international distribution, subject to agreement with the rights holders of the work. This is intended for distribution on streaming platforms and proprietary AVOD channels, as well as those with which distribution partnerships are maintained.
1) All national and international works completed between the years 2022–2025 are eligible for submission.
2) Duration:
Short film: 1 to 29 minutes
Documentary short film: 1 to 29 minutes
3) ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: Works that use artificial intelligence—whether through tools that generate images or videos—may apply in any of the categories such as fiction, animation, or documentary, provided the use of AI is justified to demonstrate facts or add value to the story. This must be indicated in the film’s technical information, as there is an award for Best Application of Digital Narrative with AI, and it is important to take this into account.
4) A copy of the work must be submitted in one of the following formats: AVI, MOV, or MP4.
5) All works must include Spanish subtitles, except those originally produced in Spanish.
6) Representatives of the selected works must submit the following materials to the Festival, in addition to the screening copy (without embedded subtitles):
• English subtitles in .srt format
• Synopsis
• Technical data sheet
• Film poster
• 5 still frames from the film
• Director's photo
• Teaser or trailer (optional)
7) The Festival may use excerpts of selected works no longer than 2 minutes (in case no trailer is available) for promotional purposes on various social media platforms and AVOD channels owned by Grupo Cortos Verdes Internacional, as well as on channels partnered through collaboration agreements, to promote the work during the festival dates.
(The festival may also use excerpts from different works in current and future promotional spots.)
8) Multiple submissions are allowed, provided each work meets the established requirements.
9) Submitting any audiovisual work to the International Film and New Narratives with AI MULTIFEST implies acceptance of these terms, which are subject to interpretation and application by the Festival Management.
10) The festival jury operates independently from the organizing committee, and its scoring criteria are solely its responsibility. The jury’s decisions are final and cannot be appealed. Winners will be notified by email.

FIC MULTIFEST, based in the state of Jalisco, seeks to especially support the promotion of short films created by local talent. Therefore, filmmakers, audiovisual artists, and members of the general public from Jalisco are invited to submit their works —in any video, film, or AI (Artificial Intelligence) format— as long as they were completed between the years 2022 and 2025.
Short films must be submitted with Spanish subtitles, except for those originally produced in Spanish.
The festival committee will select the short films for the various sections —competition, showcases, screenings, and special programs— considering all genres and formats.
Submissions for the official selection of FIC MULTIFEST 2025 will be accepted from June 7 to September 6, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (CST).
As this call is aimed at Jalisco-based talent, the submission fee is symbolic. We encourage you to submit your short film as soon as possible to take advantage of the lowest registration cost.
It is mandatory that the person submitting the short film for competition includes an official ID of the director, producer, or rights holder to confirm that the work was made by talent from the state of Jalisco. Failure to provide this documentation will result in automatic disqualification.
Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
